I commit to continuing leadership focused on “Building Bridges and Getting Results” because I believe voters want leaders who can bring together people from different backgrounds to get things done. Specifically, my top three priorities are: 1. Making Life More Affordable Let’s grow the middle class. One major way is by making child care, health care, and senior care more affordable and accessible. We must also make sure these workers can earn a living wage.

2. Making Our Neighborhoods Safer Let’s support police with the tools they need and fund strategies that have proven to prevent crime, especially for youth.

3. Making Our Schools More Successful Let’s promote student success by setting high standards and developing strong school lead.
In addition to making life more affordable by focusing on the “three cares,” I plan to investigate why home and auto insurance premiums are spiking and explore potential solutions.

The biggest limiting factor for Minnesota’s growth in the decade ahead will be our shrinking workforce, so we should prioritize keeping workers in our economy and attracting people to Minnesota. We also need to encourage more entrepreneurship by passing policies that incentivize business creation and investment.
These disparities plague nearly every part of life in Minnesota, from housing and healthcare to education and jobs. Some specific proposals to help are:

- Capping child care payments at 7% of family income to boost quality early learning and workforce participation.

- Improving school principal development and leadership models to make sure every student succeeds in school.

- Continuing my efforts to pass workforce development bills to help everyone enter the labor market and thrive
I learned about protecting our state’s natural resources at an early age from my parents who are wildlife biologists. It’s also why I take climate change seriously. I support investments in charging stations and other infrastructure so consumers feel comfortable choosing to switch to an electric vehicle. Accelerating the development of battery technology will help renewable energy sources flourish. Lastly, I support upgrades to buildings to make them more energy efficient.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.
