Number one is to faithfully represent my constituents with Honesty, Integrity and Commitment. Obviously that means I will have to boil down many opinions into some aggregated positions and thats where my campaign motto "A voice of reason for challenging times" comes into play. Next I intend to address the overwhelming concerns citizens have expressed to me about economic issues. That starts with reducing taxes and better management of the fraud, waste and economic abuses of the last few years. and finally, growing the local economy so that every one who wants to get ahead can realize the American Dream - a vibrant economy, including the things that brings to everyone. affordable housing and health care. improved safety, security, and edu

The question on addressing racial and ethnic disparities in our district is complex & challenging. This is largely because after knocking on thousands of doors of constituents across the entire district, not one single person raised a question or or even a comment to me about this topic. It's difficult to address problems no one is talking about, but I am sensitive to the topic and will listen to anyone who wants my attention on this.
This is a topic I have been aware of for years. I have personally reviewed decades of satellite climate data, professional journal articles on the topic and I generally pay attention to all the scientific data as it is released. (As an Engineer, I"m pretty comfortable with complex data sets) Everyone has a part in this topic, but most people are at a loss on how they will personally contribute. For me, I cashed out much of my earned pension and bought a tree farm. I now grow, sell and deliver/p

My first priority is to listen to constituents. The people of this district are concerned about affordability. I will work tirelessly to make sure every Minnesotan has access to affordable healthcare and childcare as well as high quality jobs to ease the burden on family budgets. Our residents are frustrated with divisive politics. On the Coon Rapids City Council, we work together well, and even if we disagree on an issue, we treat each other with respect. Finally, our community wants to ensure our kids are receiving a quality public education preparing them for the future. I am committed to ensuring a high-quality public education for all students no matter their zip code, and I know that together we can build a stronger community for all.
I have lived in Coon Rapids for 24 years and I raised my family here. I understand how the price of groceries, the cost of healthcare, and increasing housing costs impact our families. We must focus on making life affordable for our families and small businesses and have large wealthy corporations pay their fair share. I will prohibit price gouging by big corporations and ensure health insurance companies cannot deny legitimate claims. Finally, I will support lowering taxes for working families.
Minnesota has large racial disparities in wealth, home ownership, education, and employment. We must work to close this gap through legislation. Effective policies include ensuring access to affordable healthcare, childcare, and housing. We should continue and expand down payment assistance, especially for first generation home buyers. I will fight to keep free school meals and Paid Leave so Minnesotans don’t have to choose between taking care of a loved one with cancer or paying their rent.
Climate change is our biggest challenge ahead, and I am committed to action. The 100% bill moves electricity forward, but we have work to do in home heating, transportation, heavy industry, and agriculture. In agriculture, we need to encourage better practices without burdening farmers, and in home heating, we should incentivize heat pumps. We are already experiencing the effects of climate change, and we must take action now in multiple sectors.
