Why are you running?

What are the top three issues facing the Legislature?

State how you intend to address one of these three issues if elected.

My name is Julie Greene, and I want to be your next State Representative in the Minnesota House because I believe everyone has the right to live in a world where they are safe – and free to experience joy. I know this is possible — and I know it takes work. As a former Edina School Board member, I know what strong representation and active engagement look like to be impactful in decision-making – listening to constituents' concerns and knowing how to effectively take action to address them. I bring practical experience and knowledge, proven accountability as a trusted leader, and innovative thinking and passion to this important role. It would be an honor to represent the people of Edina and Bloomington at the Minnesota State Capitol.
Each and every child in the state of Minnesota deserves the opportunity to thrive by receiving a high-quality public education;

Minnesotans should feel safe and secure in our homes, neighborhood and schools. A comprehensive approach supporting multiple pillars of protection is critical in ensuring safety and security for families and individuals.

Protecting freedoms for healthcare -- particularly for women -- is a top issue, and continuing to protect this right is of utmost importance.
If elected, I will sign on as a co-author and work to pass the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) so that we can get it to the voters of Minnesota to decide. This amendment to our state Constitution cements rights for individuals that are marginalized, and builds in protections, such as reproductive rights for women. This is critical because when the foundation of our state is set with equality for all, future legislation has a base that aligns with Minnesota values.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.
