Serving as a City councilmember for the past 5 years has provided me with a comprehensive understanding of the City’s municipal operations, community development planning, and the financial budget and tax levy process to make informed and thoughtful decisions on behalf of the community. Furthermore, my unique perspective as a small business owner of a successful business for the past 14 years has given me extensive experience in financial planning, day-to-day operations, promotional marketing, communication, customer service, and employee relations. I am deeply committed to lifting the voices of all Chaska residents to shape a community they desire by intentionally listening, learning, and engaging.
Drive Growth: Promote smart growth in residential, commercial, & industrial sectors to enhance our community and generate additional tax revenue. Revitalize our Historic Downtown: We need to actively attract new businesses & support existing ones through grants/ loans & collaborating with economic organizations. Reinvest in Facilities: Our current facilities, built at a time when our population was 10,000, need updating to effectively serve our growing community of 30,000 & meet future demands.
Accessible meetings to encourage community participation to share their ideas. A user-friendly website will provide information on upcoming development projects, the city budget, and strategic goals. Clear policies & standard operating procedures for consistency among staff and council. A focus on data-driven decision-making, using metrics to track progress and share this information with the public. Transparency will help build trust and ensure our city effectively serves the community.
We will engage through various channels, including public hearings, community surveys, & accessible meetings. Our website will have up-to-date information on upcoming developments. Larger projects, we will establish a community task force from a diverse group of people. Communication through emails, phone calls, and listening sessions to foster open dialogue. Additionally, we'll visit local businesses, engage residents at events, & distribute a quarterly newsletter to keep everyone informed.
Prioritizing a strong relationship of mutual respect between the community & officers. I want our officers to continue actively engaging in community events & create social opportunities that promote understanding within our diverse population. Training in crisis intervention, cultural competency, and de-escalation techniques is essential, & I support hiring a health crisis coordinator for certain mental health calls. Using technology like drones can enhance safety for both officers & residents.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.
