As a resident of Dellwood for 25+ years, this is my home. I hope to make a positive impact on our community through hard work and transparency. I seek to focus on safety of our city & residents along with continuing fiscal responsibility. I have been a physician leader at Regions Hospital for 35+ years with extensive experience in building consensus and problem-solving as well as working with a diverse team. I have taught future healthcare workers as well as being honored with Top Doc acknowledgement. I have had the opportunity to develop skills to manage challenging situations. I will semi-retire in January giving me more time to serve our community.
My priorities are safety, fiscal responsibility and transparency. Safety of our neighbors is critically important including everything from property security to personal well-being. With a limited budget, the city council must prioritize projects that provide maximum value to all residents. Maintaining our roads, managing the bike trail project, and working on the diseased ash trees are just a few examples of major expenses that will impact all residents that the city council must review.
I am committed to listening to those I represent and collaborate to problem solve as issues arise. My experience working in a Level 1 Trauma Center emergency department has provided many opportunities to lead a team through challenging situations. I routinely work to build strong relationships and find common ground. Whenever possible, I will solicit input before finalizing major decisions. As a city council member, I want and need to hear from you.
I support the city council’s efforts to be transparent. On the city website, minutes are available as well as email info for all council members. The council welcomes participation by residents in council matters. I believe in soliciting input and transparency to build trust that the council is working in the best interest of all. For example, the bike trail requires a significant financial commitment that impacts all residents. I would work to ensure everyone is informed and able to give input

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.
