I've done my best to be involved in our little community for the 10+ years I've lived here. I've been on the board of multiple organizations both in Baudette and statewide. Not only do my husband and I live in Baudette, but we both work in Baudette. Given this, to a degree, I understand multiple perspectives, the residents and the businesses. With my work and volunteer service, I've learned to work with a variety of people in both difficult and fun situations. I feel that I can communicate well and come to an agreement on what is best for everyone.
Recently, I've found myself wondering how/why our city council has come to their decisions (whether I agree with them or not). I want to be a part of the conversation and help do what's best for the people of Baudette. I also want to make sure the "why" is also being communicated, it seems to me that much of the frustration with the current city council comes from hearsay rather than statements directly from the council.
I am easily approachable and reachable. I want the members of our community to feel comfortable reaching out to me when they have questions. I am very familiar with various forms of social media, survey tools, and newsletter writing. I want Baudette to know what's going on & understand it.
Again, one of my biggest drivers is communication. I plan to be as reachable as possible and return communications in a timely manner. I want to look into additional social media posts by the city summarizing the happenings of meetings. Additional options could be an email list of residents/property owners to get the word out. I am very open and motivated to improve and aid communication any way we can.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.
