I offer both experience and expertise - an aggregate of 25+ years of collective city experience, knowledge and Council history with heavy emphasis on budget, public safety, capital improvement, policy and precedents. Five years Maple Plain Planning Commission, eight years Maple Plain City Council and EDA, four years Maple Plain Fire Relief Assoc. and three years each Maple Plain Fire Commission and PSC Watershed Commission. I am honest, inherently analytic and detail oriented. I maintain no agenda other than to offer a fair, common-sense approach to responsible budgeting and policy making. I ask tough questions and broach sometimes uncomfortable subjects while maintaining an open mind and being prepared for discussion and decision making.
Infrastructure – Street and infrastructure replacement is a top priority after years of neglect. Refine the Capital Improvement Plan and balance with responsible borrowing. (Re)Development –Stagnation is the death knell for any city. Recruit and incentivize development resulting in growth while increasing the tax base/decreasing tax rate. Process efficiency – Because “that’s the way we’ve always done it” is NOT an option. Identify inefficiencies, improve processes, innovate and reduce expenses
I represent every Maple Plain resident equally and unequivocally. Regarding engagement, socially we host Cookies with Council, Night to Unite, Battle of the Badges and Party in the Park. Professionally we host public hearings, workshops, planning, EDA, Public Safety and business meetings. All are posted and open to the public. If schedules don’t permit or there’s apprehension in public speaking - I am available via email or phone. If I don’t have an answer, I’ve got a dozen resources that will.
Transparency and accountability are the two core principles of ethical and honest municipal representation. I am both ethical and honest and I would expect the Maple Plain City Council, Administration and Staff to maintain these same core standards.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.
