I have been running businesses for close to 20 years. Additionally, I have been St. Joseph's Acting Mayor for all of 2024 working alongside our city staff, fellow councilors, and Rick Schultz to better and grow our city. I am no stranger to navigating difficult government paperwork as I have been a writer/Editor for close to a decade and work with BATFE (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives) on a near daily basis.
-Supporting, growing, and assisting our businesses in St. Joseph - both new and old -Supporting our emergency services (Police, Fire, EMS) so St. Joseph continues to be a safe city -Be welcoming to everyone
We have open meetings, open work sessions, and aim to update our residents on all current projects or city happenings as they arise through our city newsletter, social media posts, our monument sign at city hall, and flyers that are placed at local businesses. I want our residents to know what is going on and be excited about it.
We livestream our city council meetings for the public to consume, I welcome people to join our meetings in-person for public comment, I always return phone calls, and I have visited citizens at their house when they have expressed concerns to meet with them at a familiar place - their homes. I always am candid, transparent, and forthright and how we are running and managing our city.
I want to reinvest in our police department so they have all the tools, resources, and man power to maintain a safe city. The city of St. Joseph was cited as being one of the safest in the entire state of Minnesota, and I want us to continue on the trajectory of safety.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.
