I believe the school board's responsibilities extend beyond academics; we manage a vital community institution with a dedicated team. Our school shapes the future of our community, provides jobs, and fosters local involvement. I am committed to strengthening the harmony between education quality and teacher satisfaction, ensuring that we excel as both a learning environment and a community cornerstone. My background managing multi-million dollar budgets and leading teams through large-scale projects, equips me with the skills to tackle complex challenges. I'm observant and thorough, making balanced decisions that prioritize the best outcomes for all involved.
Boost Student Enrollment: Enhance programs and outreach to retain local students and attract new ones, highlighting the school’s unique strengths. Improve Staff Satisfaction: Focus on professional development, incentives for hard-to-fill roles, and fostering a supportive work environment to retain quality staff. Promote Diversity and Inclusion: Ensure all students feel safe, valued, and free to express themselves without judgment.
After an assessment of essentials, I would prioritize essential education and staff support while seeking alternative funding for extracurriculars through fundraising or volunteer efforts. For programs that face cuts, I’d explore free, virtual, or community partnership options to maintain opportunities for students without compromising core educational needs. Additionally, I'd assess daily tasks and management in search of inefficiencies to reduce costs.
I believe every child deserves a quality education that meets their unique needs, regardless of race or economic status. I would ensure that support from paraprofessionals and targeted programs is available to address these disparities. Staff should be valued based on merit, not race or gender. I’m committed to addressing disparities by evaluating processes, correcting biases, and providing support with available resources to create an inclusive environment for all.
I will actively communicate through the school website, local news, emails, and social media to keep the community, staff, and parents informed about key issues and decisions. When possible, I will invite input from teachers and families and encourage participation in school board meetings to ensure their voices are heard and considered in the decision-making process.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.
