Nick Torres is the best candidate for Osseo City Council because of his skills, passion, and drive.

I believe in looking at the big picture. I believe in taking time, and asking the right questions, before making decisions, especially the ones that impact our friends and neighbors. I always try to be an active listener, thinking before speaking. I also believe that hard choices take thoughtful consideration before being made.

I believe in a sprit of civility and cooperation, especially when we may disagree. I am ready to work with our Mayor, council, and staff, along with the citizens and businesses of Osseo, into a bright future.

In the end, we all live in Osseo and we sink or swim together, I want to help be part of the solution.
First, insure that our budget is sound and taxes are maintained at reasonable levels, and finding opportunities for reductions where possible, through innovation and investment.

Next, assist in the responsible development of Osseo by seeking out new opportunities that provide for outside investment into our community.

My third priority is maintaining our high quality of life in Osseo. I see this happening through my strong support of public safety and support of our community's infrastructure.
I intend to make myself available to listen, keeping an open mind to all thoughts and opinions of our wonderfully diverse community. While some of those opinions may differ from my own, they are just as important and deserve the respect of being heard. My email and website are available. I can also meet in person.

The best thing about Osseo is the fact that we can all come from many different political stripes, cultures, and backgrounds, and still get along as a community in peace and civility.
I will do my part to ask the right questions that are needed during council meetings.

I will listen and bring forward the concerns of those who contact me. I will support the continued use of the Matter of the Floor council meeting agenda item, providing the public a chance to be heard.

I will support and require the use of documentation by presenters and the council to back up proposals and budgets, allowing the public insight into the operation of their government.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.
