Crosby City Council Member {_getChooseLabel(this.selections.length)}

As local legislators who sometimes have executive power, council members can propose ordinances, set administrative policy, and authorize the budget proposed by the mayor. As a long time Crosby resident, I have a strong connection with where Crosby was, and I believe where it should go. In my family the morals of work, family, and caring for others is what drives myself to make things work. I am a creative and open-minded thinker. I believe I can work with anyone and strive to consider all sides before making a decision. My motto is- if it isn't good enough for my grandmother, it isn't good enough for anyone. My goal and concerns are to make Crosby a better place for my children, and to have them want to move back.
My main priority is a good balance between houses for families and Airbnb's. Don't get me wrong. Airbnb's are a need for a touristic town however the amount of the homes being used for these purposes takes away from families moving here. Another priority is the lack of use of the certain public areas that could be used for something more than a field. Taxes need to go down plain and simply. Yes, I understand there are reasons for some but there is also room to cut some.
Everyone, young and old, deserve to be heard. Your opinion is as valuable as mine. I would love to set up a monthly forum to discuss with anyone in the community what they feel should change or ways to improve. I am but one person but look forward to being a voice for the 2000 plus people in Crosby.
I will be available day or night to answer any questions or concerns anyone has. If you do not understand something I will sit down with you and explain it to you. There is no reason to have hidden information or plans. If I do something wrong or concerning, I would appreciate anyone to call me out on it.

• Mayor of Crosby (2013-2016): Elected by the people in November 2012 and proudly served from January 2013 . I worked tirelessly to enhance our city's infrastructure, support local businesses, and foster a sense of community. • Accomplishments as Mayor: I facilitated the growth of new businesses and led major infrastructure upgrades, including improvements to water, sewer, and streets. We maintained a stable levy during my term, ensuring fiscal responsibility without raising taxes. Additionally, I was actively involved in the early stages of planning the city's bicycle trails, enhancing recreational opportunities for the community. I wish to bring back the interest of the residents, accountability for all depts. and stable our finances.

I believe in a Crosby that thrives economically, supports its residents, and preserves the charm that makes our city special. My priorities include: • Economic Development: Promoting local businesses and attracting new opportunities to keep our economy strong. • Infrastructure Improvement: Continuing to upgrade our roads, public spaces, and utilities to ensure a safe and sustainable future. • Encouraging greater participation in local government and ensuring every voice is heard.
I have developed good listening skills during my careers, make myself available to all, there is the mayor and a council member available at City Hall an hour before every council meeting. Talk with the residents and business as well as department heads to listen to questions, suggestions, ideas and complaints. Then take that to the council to come up with a solution. Always do what I say, be honest and respectful to all. I wish to give more representation at the county level for businesses.
All departments have meetings during the month and there should be a report on those meetings, but there never seems to be with the current council. More discussions at meetings. Respecting each other when speaking. Everyone one deserves to be heard. I believe no one person is better than the other. Ask questions and speak up for all. Also make each dept. accountable for expenditures, duties and responsibilities.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.
