I was honored to be elected in 2022 to serve my city. I have worked to fulfill the promises made at that time. And will continue to do so. 1. I promised to nurture a more transparent, responsive, and inclusive city government. 2. I have championed funding of projects that improved the city’s ability to serve our residents better and more reliably. 3. I supported our participation as a Green Step City and a number associated efforts to make our city greener, cleaner and more resilient in our changing environment.
1. I will continue to improve the responsiveness and transparency of city government. 2. I will passionately champion our need to address the housing crisis in any way available to city government, collaborating with as many partners as possible. We will partner to bring new employers and housing development to the city. I will continue to focus on making Vadnais Heights a great place to live and work. 3. I will continue our work making strategic changes to our budgeting and planning around
Our city is blessed with excellent leadership, elected and professional staff. We have been committed to reviewing our processes and practices to meet the needs and expectations of all of our constituents. I am proposing new practices, such as periodic town hall meetings to engage more directly with the community.
Our biggest challenges are finding ways to engage the whole community in decision-making, strategic planning, and defining the common good, together. The opportunity lies in the immense progress possible by engaging the energy and expertise of all of our community assets. I believe we can become a more resilient, welcoming, and prosperous community. I will continue to convene, reach out, and be responsive to all parties willing to work together for the common good.
Our policing is provided by the Ramsey County Sherrif’s Department. City staff and elected officials interact regularly with officers and patrol division management to revue activity and practices. Our Health and Public Safety Commission also monitors the needs of our residents and businesses. Together we are taking the first steps to bring mental health staff to interactions that may benefit from including a calming presence to those interactions.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.
