As it is the responsibility of an elected official to represent all of their district, I've used the opportunity as a candidate to listen to members of the communities I've visited and celebrated with during their festivals and through their days of events. I've also listened during the conversations we had at the doors where I've heard a few common needs. If elected, I will begin the work to improve access to affordable childcare for working families and improve access to eldercare for seniors. Work to increase funding for proper equipment and storage for EMT and Fire services and finally bring back access to basic necessities and preserve parts that make each community so unique. Simply put, I'll work to bring back the fun and vibrancy.
Within a house district I've noticed that each community has their own unique style and demand. As the LGA is good, it currently doesn't meet the costs of today. I'd work to address the need of an increase as well as adding an inflation modifier so that funding can adjust without further delay. I'd also like to work to provide subsidies for existing businesses to sustain with tax credits to rebuild and renovate. I'd also look for ways to encourage more population growth in our rural communities.
I'd support programs and past legislation that help our communities in the moment such as children eating free at school. I feel that true change starts with our children and support bills such as HF0381 and HF0320 to help match our diverse communities in the classrooms. I'd support legislation such as HF1502, and also work to create additional funding for projects similar to the multicultural center in Moorhead to help reduce the xenophobia among community members as we are a diverse community.
I'd support legislation that focuses on reducing demand for finite materials while limiting the use of chemicals that can further hinder our land for future generations. I support methods to help reduce soil erosion while introducing practices that can provide nutrients back into our soil without hindering market demand. I support current efforts in place to maintain and reduce our green house gases and I'm open to methods of capture for use and fund research for renewable energy sources.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.

VOTE411 is brought to you by the League of Women Voters Education Fund and League of Women Voters of Minnesota Education Fund. The League of Women Voters does not support or oppose any political party or candidate for office.
