MN must continue investing in a world class education and affordable, accessible healthcare for all.

Education is the foundation of our communities, our labor force, our economy and our democracy. We must compensate teachers in order to attract and keep the best and brightest in the profession. Teachers, staff and students need the resources to create a healthy learning environment where everyone is welcomed, nurtured and safe.

We need a healthcare system that everyone can access and afford regardless of where they live or work. No one should go bankrupt because of a serious illness.

Climate change is impacting our economy, our health and our way of life. We must continue to legislate policy to protect our soil, air and water.
In addition to investing in education for our future work force, we must ensure that we are protecting our labor force with PFML, and ESST. I co-authored legislation to address the ubiquitous junk fees that are costing families an average of $3000/year. The DFL-led Legislature banned junk fees, gave Minnesotans the largest tax cut in our state's history, passed Medical Debt reform, banned price gouging during a pandemic and invested in homeowners', renters' and child tax credits.
I will continue to advocate for investments to help Minnesotans, esp people of color, access and afford their housing and healthcare costs. We will reduce the alarming increases in maternal and infant mortality rates, esp among families of color, with newly passed legislation: PFML, ESST, reproductive health care access, early child learning and breastfeeding programs. I will prioritize the need for better trained and more diverse public safety resources, as well as stronger gun legislation.
We are continuing to invest in multi-modal transportation systems, reducing the number of cars on the roads and the need for large, expensive parking lots and ramps. I will advocate for investments in electrifying our homes and schools and building geothermal-powered buildings. I will advocate for building an infrastructure that allows people to safely walk, bike and roll. I will also prioritize preserving & protecting our waters, lakes, rivers, marshes, prairie, forests, parks and trails.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.

VOTE411 is brought to you by the League of Women Voters Education Fund and League of Women Voters of Minnesota Education Fund. The League of Women Voters does not support or oppose any political party or candidate for office.
