I feel I'm extremely qualified. Being a business manager, I've learned truly listening to what the community asks for, then looking at the bigger picture, is the best way to make good decisions. I think communication is an absolute key to success as well as being logical and transparent on all decisions. Taking this role has to come with "no personal agenda". I am here to bring common sense and logic, along with the desire to make our city very desirable to live in. Not to get "pet projects" done like we have seen in the past. Everybody in this community matters to me and I will show them that with action. The city council is a place to bring their ideas, and find the best possible idea to make it reality, when possible. I'm here for them.
1st, I think being transparent with everything is a huge deal. Lots of thing get moved through here without the public noticing. 2nd, Being available for the citizens to talk to. Just coming to meetings is not enough Commnication. People want to be listened to and their ideas completely understood. 3rd, Find solutions to our ever-rising utility bills and constant raising of taxes. There is alternatives and they need to be considered.
Everyone in this community matters. And every one of them deserves to be heard. I will gladly give my phone number and address to anyone who has any concern for the future of our community. Call or knock on my door and I will listen to you. As a City of Kandiyohi firefighter, I've gotten to know many families in our city. Many from different cultures. No matter what your ethnicity is, You will have my attention. I am here for ALL of us.
I think Transparency is a major deal. The people of our city deserve to know exactly what is happening, planned, and talked about. I believe all the city meeting minutes should be published and posted. Emailed or in the town newsletter. Absolutely nothing should be hidden. I understand as an elected official, people put their trust in you to represent them. Decisions can be made, but the public should know all of what was discussed to come to that decision.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.
