As current Mayor of Ottertail I have played and continue to play strong leadership role in City Government. I have responded quickly to 3 emergency situations. Two storms, and massive bog. Seek State, Federal funds for Firehall expansion, solar panels. and other City projects. I have perfect attendance as Mayor and am a results driven Mayor.
We have to consider turning limited use City owned property into apartment complex because of housing shortage. Work on long term water contract with Henning. Apply for grants for projects such as day care incentives. Possible Community Center when economically feasible.
Maintain a open door policy with City Staff. Let them know I am always available to listen to their concerns and collectively work with the City Council to address any issues City Staff may have. I would run meetings to show respect for each Council Members opinions. And seek their feedback on all issues.
I am VERY visible in Ottertail City spearheading many Community events and always listen to Citizens concerns even at events. I encourage Citizens to attend Council meetings at our forum part of our meetings and work with Council to resolve their concerns.
I have demonstrated public safety three times in Ottertail (storms and bog). I encourage feedback from Citizens on safety issues and regularly attend Emergency Management training with Emergency Management director Patrick Waletzko. I am very active in "Safety Saturday" in conjunction with the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Department. Also, I have spearheaded FEMA storm prepared educational information pamphlets for our Citizens.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.
