I understand the situation of our community, I understand the limitations and challenges that our children and community face. I would like to share in the issues and concerns, and I would also like to share in the triumphs! It is possible to overcome our barriers!
If elected I will aim to assist the school board in building mutual respect, community engagement, and addressing student needs and achievement gaps.
If forced to cut the budget in the face of declining revenues, I would work with the school board to involve staff, teachers, parents and community in the decision making process to ensure transparency and understanding.
In addressing any racial and economic disparities in our educations system, I would work with the school board to assess how budget cuts may affect different racial groups, protect programs, ensure there is an equal distribution of resources, and involve representatives from diverse backgrounds in the decision making processes.
I would assist the school board in hosting regular meetings, encourage teacher and parent input. Provide focus groups and surveys, assist in collaborative goal setting.

I have chosen to run for the school board to continue to be a voice for the students, staff, teachers, and the community. I believe our children deserve to have the best education we can give them. I want to continue to support, hear, and help our teachers and staff give our children a safe and welcoming learning environment. I hope to continue my time serving on the board and making our school a better place! I am friendly, caring, and hard working. I will listen to other's thoughts and concerns.
To hire and fill all open positions in the district. If the district is able to fill more positions, it will ease up the workload for the current staff. Find ways to enroll, keep, and graduate more students. There seems to be a steady decline in students from 9th grade to 12th grade in our area. With higher enrollment numbers, the district can receive the more funding. To improve relations between staff and administration. This will help make the school a better place to work and teach.
My strategy would be to look over all expenses, the importance of them, and the price, I would then go through and see what expenses can be found at a lower cost or cut all together.
By treating others the way you want to be treated. Administration and staff need to set good examples for our students. All students need a place to feel safe and welcome.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.
