Red Wing City Mayor

The mayor is usually the head of the city and may represent the city in front of other government bodies. They also can preside at council meetings and appoint city workers. A mayor usually has a role in proposing a city budget which influences services provided to residents and can veto ordinances proposed by the city council.Voting in local elections is important - learn more here: Why Vote for MayorA candidate forum for this race is available at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmEh9CXpYg8&authuser=0. I come with great leadership skills and possess a number of resources and tools coming from two different communities. In addition to my relationship building with people outside of Prairie Island and Red Wing.
1. Seeking out those voices that are not traditionally heard and being able to respectfully listen, understand and try to create solutions that benefit the entire community. 2. Proactively working with city council in how to generate more revenue for our city that will benefit our community members without affecting their way of living. 3. Representing Red Wing in a way that makes people proud to say they come from here while helping grow more community participation in government spaces.
Inviting community participation in government spaces and events held within the city. Showing up when difficulty is present and ensuring that I am respectful in a way that helps us understand the difficulty in order to be able to move through it so we as your elected officials can act as one.
Show up to community events, host listening sessions, participate in the community's celebrations as well as show up for my community when tragedy and devastation has occurred in our incredible city of Red Wing we call home. I was born and raised in community and that is all I know how to be, a humble servant to my beautiful relatives in both Red Wing and Prairie Island and I am here to grow with all of you to ensure a better future for the next seven generations.
I will work with them on creating and establishing a community style type of policing like I have in the past worked with PIPD (Prairie Island Police Department) in trying things with a diverse lens with knowledge and understanding of historical trauma amongst certain groups of people.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.
