As a graduate and resident of Kenyon, and an active volunteer Firefighter/First Responder of the Kenyon Fire Department, I feel it is time for a change for the office position of Mayor. I have been active in the community for the last 15 years, previously on Park & Rec and currently on the FIre Department. I have been the Secretary/Treasure of the fire department, safety officer and currently the President of the Firemen's Relief Association. I believe in supporting our community and the people who live here.
First of all, I want to let the community know that I represent our community, I will listen to the community and maintain a bias opinion.

I would like to push toward more housing. We need to keep the young kids in town and we cant do this without affordable housing. Our schools attendance are dwindling because we are not growing.

We need to relook at the industrial park that has been sitting empty for the last how many years. sitting empty does not bring income to our town.

It is important to have competent reliable people with ethical morals. I believe in treating others the way I like to be treated. If I make a mistake I will own up to and rectify the problem instead of ignoring it.
I will encourage citizens to be active by attending meetings or following along online. Speak up when you have a concern and voice your opinion. Reach out to me if you need to, I am usually always in town or available by phone.
It is important to support our police departments, public works, fire department, etc. Some our placing their lives on the line, getting up during the night to restore power for us or even coming to help you in an emergency situation. We need to keep our community safe.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.
