I believe that I possess many characteristics that make me the best candidate to represent Ward 6. I am an excellent listener who takes deep care in hearing and acting on the concerns of others. I am highly collaborative and can work through problems and issues with people with varying viewpoints. I can digest large amounts of information and boil it down to its essence to make informed decisions. Balancing budgets and navigating through challenging financial decisions is something I do regularly. I am a servant leader who operates with the understanding that I will be called to serve those who vote for me to represent them which requires me to put my agenda on the backburner.
My first priority would be to address the affordable, accessible housing problem that Rochester faces (including senior housing). Active collaboration between the city and county and exploring zoning density could both be parts of solving this issue. I would also make public and active transportation a key issue that would address the infrastructure needs that our community faces. My final priority would be to ensure that public spaces (such as parks) would be accessible and equitable for all.
In my professional life, I collaborate with, listen to, and communicate with a wide variety of people. I am highly respectful when communicating with others and believe that all members of our community deserve to be valued and respected. I plan to be fully engaged and easily accessible to those whom I represent and will act, with compassion, regarding the concerns or questions that they might bring forward.
I believe that transparency and accountability begin with trusting those who are called into public service, and I will earn this trust by doing what I say I will do, listening to citizens, and making sure I am always prepared for meetings. I will communicate with citizens in Ward 6 frequently with clarity so they might know what is happening on a city level. I will always be happy to meet with anyone to discuss my positions and learn about their positions.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.
