Though I have mean, Top 3 will be; Rural Education/Medicine, Economic/Amenity Growth, and Voter Choice/Power. Bonding Bills and Greater Minnesota will not be left behind if I have any say about it. We need the amenities to keep/grow our population centers, while increasing our quality-of-life here in the Northland. The economy needs a balance of tourism & new-age manufacturing. Issues with local municipalities left holding the bill, when medical and educational services go under funded needs to end. It is time to negotiate a permanent solution to get our schools back on top and a more equitable, wholistic approach to medical care in our rural regions. Minnesotans deserve a modern democratic process; RCV, End Gerrymandering, & Term Limits!
Most of what we call "inflation" was just "greedflation". This happens when large corporate industries use a small inflation spike to artificially balloon the problem. We need guardrails to prevent this, the same as we have to prevent monopoly manipulation of the markets. I also see a forward path where the state funds programs to create many more local co-ops, from construction businesses to small starter homes/units. Allow people to invest their housing budget to one day get that family home.
First thing is to address the problem. I know very well the Minnesota Paradox. Where state law can effect change would be force a major revision of the historical racist biases in how to diagnose non-white patients. New educational methods instituted to help minority communities that have historical struggled, achieve equitable outcomes unique to them. Maybe largest of all housing, that makes up for previous redlining of neighborhood populations and gives steps to 1st tine homeownership.
I'm unique in my race and from the two major parties, that I support a massive investment into modern, safe nuclear power. This would accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles, heating, and allow for less immediate need for huge battery farms. While also giving us time figure out renewable's recycling problem. Following that string, finding way to make recycling all old electronic, all types of plastics, metals, etc more approachable and convenient is long over due. Solutions don't stop there

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.

VOTE411 is brought to you by the League of Women Voters Education Fund and League of Women Voters of Minnesota Education Fund. The League of Women Voters does not support or oppose any political party or candidate for office.
