If elected, what will your top three priorities be and why? (750 characters)

What will you do to support a vibrant economy across Minnesota and to address inflation? (500 character)

What legislation, if any, would you support to address racial or ethnic disparities in Minnesota? (500 characters)

What legislation, if any, would you support to address climate change and its effects in Minnesota? (500 characters)

Climate – Addressing the urgent climate crisis will be my top priority. I will work to implement renewable energy solutions, reduce carbon emissions, and protect natural habitats. Climate change poses a severe threat to our planet, and state. We must protect our natural resources. 2.I will prioritize expanding access to affordable healthcare for all. This includes reducing prescription drug costs, protecting pre-existing conditions, and ensuring that every individual has access to quality healthcare services. Ultimate goal is universal care for the state. Education, I Will work to increase funding for schools, support teachers, and promote access to higher education. Education is the foundation of a strong society.
To support a vibrant economy across Minnesota and address inflation, I would prioritize investment in key industries such as technology, healthcare, and renewable energy. I would also support small businesses by providing financial assistance and incentives for starting businesses and for sustainability and growth of the business.
I would support legislation that focuses on addressing systemic racism, promoting diversity and inclusion in hiring and education, increasing access to quality healthcare and housing for marginalized communities, and implementing criminal justice reform to eliminate disparities in sentencing and incarceration rates. Additionally, I would advocate for measures to address economic inequality and provide resources for minority-owned businesses.
I would support legislation that promotes renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar power, and incentivizes their adoption. Additionally, I would advocate for measures to reduce carbon emissions, increase energy efficiency in buildings and transportation, and protect natural resources like forests and wetlands. Investing in sustainable infrastructure and promoting conservation efforts will also be key in addressing climate change in Minnesota.

My top three issues are Taxes, Education, and Crime, as these are the issues that most affect our voters, and they can make life in Minnesota unpleasant. The taxes in Minnesota are among the highest in the nation and keep going up. I want to freeze tax rates. If there is a budget deficit soon, as seems likely, let the government tighten its belt, and not take more from our families! Minnesota once had a reputation for educational innovation and excellence. Now we see test scores declining every year. We need to fix our broken schools. Ever since the George Floyd riots, a crime wave in Minneapolis has been encroaching on Crystal and New Hope. We need to shore up and support the police.
Much of our inflation is generated by national decisions, but Minnesota mandates are increasing energy costs. Those mandates are causing food, staples, and everything to cost more for our families, forcing everyone to tighten their belts. Minnesota tax rates are among the highest in the nation. If we want businesses to thrive in Minnesota, we need to lower their high tax rates and reduce the burden of regulations.
A primary role of government is to ensure everyone has equal access to opportunities. I will listen to all voices to improve outcomes for all Minnesotans. Schools concentrating on reading, writing, math, and science will restore Minnesota’s reputation as an education leader. We need all schools to provide a great education, regardless of neighborhood or the ethnic makeup of the student body. Finally, the justice system should never treat people differently because of religion, race, or creed.
I am concerned that Minnesota’s renewable energy mandates dramatically increase energy costs for families. I am concerned that serious consideration of clean energy must include nuclear power, as it is reliable, cheap, and produces no emissions. I am concerned with the downstream environmental impacts from disposal of the windmills and solar panels when scrapped.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.
