My experience as a financial advisor for 26 years has given me a firm foundation in public service; I have held many leadership positions and was recognized by my peers for fostering a culture of service and giving back. I enjoy taking an active role in my community – I was a ten-year member and past president of the West St. Paul-Mendota Heights Rotary Club, I’m a member of the River Heights Chamber of Commerce, a past member of the YMCA Advisory Board, served as a Guardian Ad Litem in Dakota County, currently serve on the Dakota 911 Board and spent nine seasons coaching little league in the Inver Grove Heights Parks & Rec system. I am proud to be a 1982 graduate of Simley High School and a graduate with a BA from the U of M.
Residential and Business Development: I am committed to promoting residential and business development that not only benefits our residents in the long term but also enhances our city’s fiscal stability.

Accessible Parks and Green Space: Our parks and green spaces, are vital for the well-being and enjoyment of our residents, and add to property values.

Long-Term Fiscal Management: Sound fiscal management is crucial for controlling our tax levy and ensuring the financial health of our city.
Successful engagement is accomplished through face to face interaction. I'm proud to be part of a city council that meets regularly with residents and business owners out in our community. I plan on continuing this activity if elected to a second term.
A transparent government is essential for a thriving community. I will advocate for increased participation and transparency in our local government processes. This includes making information more accessible, encouraging public engagement, and ensuring that decision-making is open and accountable. I believe that an informed and involved community is a strong community.
My family and I have lived in Inver Grove Heights for over six years. I am currently serving on the Planning Commission where we have made progress moving developments forward, considering variances to homeowners and businesses, and amending the city code to support growth. On the Planning Commission, I advise the City Council on land use issues, citizen requests, and develop long term land use plans. I am an attorney and I went to law school in order to serve the public. I will be determined and collaborative. Working to find solutions within the frame work of current city resources, while also being creative by collaborating with businesses, other city governments, county government, and state departments.
First and foremost, my top priority is to address our housing shortage. In Inver Grove Heights, we have far more demand than supply. That impacts prices and the ability of our residents to stay in Inver Grove Heights and potential new residents looking for a place to live. My second priority is to work with community members and city staff to strike the right balance between development and preserving our green spaces. My third priority is to protect our environment.
My plan is to be available once a month for a town hall, Q&A session, or coffee event, so that I am engaging with the community beyond the public comment portion of our official meeting agenda. I will work to attend as many community events as possible.
As part of my efforts in community engagement, I plan to discuss and explain city government processes. I will connect with city staff and ask questions so that I am as informed as possible to answer questions from residents. And as necessary, connect residents with relevant staff. I will oppose any proposal to end or shrink any citizen commissions or committees.
