I have served on the City Council for 12 years and have a well established understanding of how local government works and in particular the City's budget and finances. I came to the Council with 8 years of service on the Planning Commission and 6 years on the Economic Development Commission which served me well in adjusting to being a Council member. My 36 year Deluxe Corporation career included leading major projects that affected our manufacturing operations, involvement with the Manufacturing organization’s finances and development of 3 year operating plans, strategic planning, and developing a future vision of the manufacturing process. My involvement with these activities prepared me to be involved with similar Council activities.
1) Maintain the City's fiscal stability including balancing the General Fund budget and maintaining adequate fund balances. 2) Maintain and continue investing in the City's infrastructure (drinking water, storm water, sewer, parks, and trail way system). 3) Develop implementation & finance plans for the Master Plan recommendation & support Tribute Park construction to honor military branches, first responders & local victims of 1965 tornado, Williams pipeline explosion, & 35W bridge collapse.
We have organized a Community Engagement Committee, and the City Council needs to continue supporting their WELCOME HOME vision by fostering transparency and embracing diverse community representation.
All City Council meetings are open to the public, and we have a quarterly City newsletter that has recently been expanded by 4 pages. I also serve as a City liaison to our various City Commissions and my responsibilities include providing Council updates to the commissions.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.
