Access to affordable healthcare is a basic right, yet too many Minnesotans go without care or go into debt to get the care they and their family need. I’ll continue to remove barriers to care, eliminate unfair billing and debt practices, and advocate for universal healthcare.

Our future depends on decisive action to address the climate crisis. I’ll focus on climate sustainability and environmental protection through smart infrastructure investments that also provide good jobs.

We must pass the Equal Rights Amendment. The ERA guarantees our rights no matter who we are or how we identify and is vital for addressing systemic discrimination and fostering a society where everyone has the same opportunities and protections.
To support a vibrant economy, I’ll work to remove barriers and broaden investment across communities, accelerate connectivity so people across the state can participate in the virtual economy, support regular bonding bills to stimulate investment, grow our workforce, and address the housing shortage that limits economic growth in many communities. Federal policies have been going well to bring down inflation; I’ll continue to help Minnesotans manage daily costs like childcare and medical care.
Minnesota’s success depends on ensuring equity and justice for all Minnesotans. I’ll continue to address disparities across policy areas to ensure that all have a fair opportunity to thrive. For example, while we have invested in maternal and child health for Black and indigenous women, more work needs to be done. Likewise, home ownership rates are far lower for BIPOC communities and unemployment tends to be higher. Strategic investments and policy changes are needed to make further progress.
Addressing the climate crisis requires energy generation, transmission, and storage policies. We need to adapt our built environment to weather extremes such as excessive heat and rain events that lead to drought and flooding. I plan to keep working to strengthen sustainable building infrastructure guidelines for state funded projects. I’ll also support environmental justice measures to ensure that negative climate impacts do not fall most heavily on those least able to cope with them.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.
