I have a strong passion for Moorhead and its citizens. I want to continue to build out infrastructure and revitalize downtown. I will help facilitate making Moorhead a destination for new businesses and retail, and home-grown shops. I will use my professional procurement and budgeting talents to have a well-balanced budget and a transparent fiscally responsible plan to best utilize funds to better all of Moorhead.
Top three priorities will be first and foremost taking care of our Police and Fire Departments making sure they are fully staffed and have the tools they need to ensure our safety and theirs. Second priority will be to continue to revitalize our downtown community and work towards more economical housing for our residents. Third will be to work towards making Moorhead a more competitive city so that businesses and residents can live, eat, play, shop, and thrive in our city.
I believe in an open door policy for all citizens, we have a responsibility to work and serve all people who live in Moorhead and beyond. Every citizen has a right to be seen, heard, and listened to, this is fundamental to the success and growth of our great city.
We can ensure transparency and accountability by listening to concerns and working with our citizens to address those concerns or issues. I also believe that by openly communicating with our citizens we can stay in front of any problems. I think by listening and working side by side with the citizens of Moorhead we will be able to create a better community.

I have broad experiences and a unique perspective to bring to city council. As a member of a Moorhead police family, I have a keen interest in how we will improve recruitment and retention within the police department. I am passionate about caring for our natural environment, my college degree and background in environmental policy has taught me that this is best addressed through an interdisciplinary lens. I spent 13 years working in environmental and installation management programs across the Department of Defense. Recently, I spent 6 years working at a small woman-owned business, where our annual revenue grew from $200K to over $1M. My diverse background shows my capacity to successfully take on new challenges and serve my community.
Growing a safer, stronger and more vibrant community. 1) Dedicated to a Safe Community - I’m deeply devoted to making Moorhead a safer place for all of us. 2) Building a Strong, Sustainable Community - I’m committed to enhancing Moorhead’s infrastructure, protecting our environment, and ensuring fair wages for all residents. 3) Growing a Vibrant Community - I believe that Moorhead’s identity is one of inclusivity and vibrancy, where economic development, arts, music, and diversity thrive.
I believe in representative democracy. This means that I will represent the constituents of my ward, even if their view is different from mine. Regardless of differing views, I will always adhere to my personal values and ethics, being kind and treating my neighbors with dignity and respect. In order to best represent our diverse community, I am already reaching out and meeting with leaders from within them. If elected, I will proactively seek out input from all members of our community.
Transparency and accountability are crucial in city government, ensuring the community knows how their hard-earned tax dollars are being used. I support council meetings being open to the public and televised, meeting minutes being stored online, and changes made to city policy are brought before the council. I will also proactively seek out community members to participate in our committees as citizen representatives. I will ensure city staff focus on priorities outlined in our strategic plan.

I have been an active volunteer in the Fargo-Moorhead area, working with organizations and community members to address the needs of our city. In my experience, there’s often talk about solutions without follow-through. I’m someone who takes initiative, and I’ll bring that energy to the City Council to ensure action is taken where it’s needed. I hold three Bachelor's degrees and am pursuing my Master of Social Work. Growing up in a low-income family drives my passion for supporting underserved populations. My lived experience and dedication to real change will help ensure every voice in Moorhead is heard.
If I am elected, my top three priorities are the following: 1. Public safety 2. Providing more opportunities for low-income individuals and families 3. Providing more high quality and affordable child care options
I will engage with and represent our diverse community by actively listening and ensuring all voices are heard. I plan to host community forums, meet regularly with underrepresented groups, and collaborate with local organizations to understand the needs of everyone in Moorhead. My goal is to create inclusive policies that reflect the diversity of our city, ensuring that all residents, regardless of background, feel valued and represented in decision-making.
I will work to ensure transparency and accountability by advocating for open communication between the city government and residents. This includes making city council meetings more accessible, providing clear updates on key decisions, and using social media and newsletters to keep the community informed. I also believe in regular check-ins with the public through town halls and surveys to ensure ongoing feedback and hold leadership accountable to the people of Moorhead.
