1) Protect our natural resources for future generations. I will prioritize completing the 50-year Clean Water Action Plan effort I commenced last term. I will also continue to champion Boundary Waters protections. This is a matter of urgent concern to the economic and ecological future of our state.

2) Make our legal systems more just and effective. I will build on my successes enhancing our legal systems to ensure that all Minnesotans are treated equally and that we achieve our public safety goals in a just manner.

3) Ensure that all children have access to high-quality public school education, investing in educational professionals, in school infrastructure, & strategically deploying resources to communities that need extra supports.
I'll continue to support the flourishing immigrant & refugee community in MN, which contributes to our economy addressing critical workforce shortages in healthcare, manufacturing, and farming. My legislation that created the Office of New Americans within the Dept. of Employment & Economic Development is already having an impact, ensuring that immigrant workers with authorization are able to contribute to MN's workforce, their purchasing power reducing inflation according to numerous studies.
My priorities within the public safety and educational realms are both focused on ensuring that these systems are more just and lift up communities that have been left behind or have been harmed by the status quo. I will build on the Office of Restorative Practices I championed in 2023 to expand restorative justice in both youth and adult contexts. I will also be continuing my work on technical aspects of ensuring that the education budget is more equitably distributed.
I will complete the 50-year Clean Water Action Plan effort I commenced last term, securing funding for initial development. This bill takes a multidisciplinary approach to the study, so we can also example environmental justice areas of concern and ensure that all communities can equally access essential clean water stores. This type of proactive effort to protect our natural resources is critical in this era of climate change.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.
