My priorities have evolved over the course of my election and in speaking with constituents and their concerns. 1. Affordable Health Care Health care should be a right, not a privilege. I have been very fortunate to have had excellent health coverage for my famly- I believe this is in large part of my being a member of the Minnesota Association of Professional Employees during my 26 year career with the Minnesota Department of Revenue.

2. Affordable Housing. If you do not have secure, safe, comfortable, affordable housing - everything else is a struggle and falls apart. In addition - we need to keep climate change in mind when building new housing and upgrading current housing. 3.Education - Our K-12 funding is not adequate.
Invest in people by addressing me top 3 priorities. People are much more productive and happy when they are healthy, have secure housing and they have the education to be contributing members of our society.
I believe that focusing on my top 3 priorites for ALL Minnesotans will help address racial and ethnic disparities. When all people have affordable health care, housing, and education - they are prepared to be contributing members of society. When people are shown that they are valued and supported - we have less conflict and more understanding and cooperation.
Climate change is real, I believe in science and it needs to be addressed by every country in the world. In Minnesota we are strong on fighting climate change and moving toward renewable energies. I think we can do more at the ground level. Climate change needs to be part of our education. We can get regular Minnesotan's invlolved more with how we consume energy, produce energy and focus on reuse, recylce and repurpose.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.

VOTE411 is brought to you by the League of Women Voters Education Fund and League of Women Voters of Minnesota Education Fund. The League of Women Voters does not support or oppose any political party or candidate for office.
