I am the best candidate for the Crystal City Council Ward 4 because of the experience of my first term on the City Council, myhistory of living in Crystal since 2011 and my passion for local government and pride of public service.
My first priority will be to have budgets that balance resident and city needs effectively. Let's create budgets that create a better city for all but don't cause a burden on taxpayers.

Secondly, I want the city to slow the problem of speeding. It is the most common issue I hear about and the city should do more to stop it.

Thirdly, Crystal should be doing more to stop climate change and by should use it's new Sustainability Commission to help draft a climate action plan and put it to work
I will attend community events through the year to meet and chat with residents and listen to community input on key issues.

Crystal now has a Inclusion and Diversity Commission to engage and represent all members of our diversity community. Tapping into that commission will go a long way to learn about the needs of all Crystal residents.
As a city council person I am available for questions via phone and email whenever citizens contact me. I keep up a social media page to inform residents of Crystal city business. In my first term I learned the importance of asking the right questions of our city staff to get the most transparent and accountable government for our citizens. Citizens should have an clear understanding of what their city is doing and why, my goal is to inform residents of exactly that.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.
