The rising cost of living is the number one issue I’ve heard about from people in Minnesota’s Third District. We need to make Minnesota affordable again. Immigration is another top issue. It's time to secure our borders and then get to work reforming our immigration system. I will also focus on public safety because I want our kids to grow up in safe communities. As a former judge, I know everyone wins when our communities and neighborhoods are safe and strong.
Minnesotans, and all Americans, need relief from the rising cost of living. I’ve put together the Make Minnesota Affordable Again plan that includes four policy changes economists agree will bring down prices and reboot the economy, including: 1) cutting wasteful government spending, 2) increasing access to clean and affordable energy, 3) reducing taxes, and 4) creating an environment that encourages the creation of high-paying jobs. It’s time to create an economy that benefits all Minnesotans.
I am committed to being a good steward of the environment and our natural resources. I have a long history of protecting the environment as a legislator and Hennepin County Commissioner. I will continue this work in Congress by supporting the development of clean, reliable, affordable energy solutions. I will also protect green spaces and work to ensure clean air and water for all.
It is time to modernize our system and make it more affordable for all Americans. I support increasing transparency to actual health care costs and providing better outcomes data. Additionally, I would focus on promoting preventative healthcare and wellness. We can do better for our patients and help lower costs by increasing access to new health research and promoting lifestyle changes that lead to better health. We also need to improve access to mental health and substance abuse treatments.
Free and fair elections are the bedrock of our democracy, and protecting our electoral process should be a bipartisan concern. There have been several areas of concern regarding election integrity that have been identified, including access to information that could impact the election, foreign influence, and the accuracy of voter rolls. I look forward to working with members on both sides of the aisle to make our elections even more secure.

As a doctor, I know how important it is to lower the cost of health care. During my time in the Minnesota legislature, I took on Big Pharma to lower prescription drug costs, and I passed bipartisan legislation forcing insurance companies to get rid of red tape that hurt patients and cost money. If I’m elected, I would be the only pro-choice OB-GYN in Congress. I led the fight to protect reproductive rights here in Minnesota, and now I want to take that fight to Congress. Finally, my husband is a former Army Ranger, and supporting our veterans is personal to me. I was proud to co-author and pass legislation that provides 9/11 veterans and their families with service bonuses, and I will continue to advocate on behalf of veterans in Congress.
We need to lower costs for families. I’ve worked with Republicans and Democrats to take on the high price of medication, and I believe we need to take swift action to lower the cost of housing and child care to make it easier for families to live their lives.
We also need to be investing in innovation, infrastructure, and entrepreneurship to help grow our economy, and make sure we have a tax system that works for everyone – which is why I helped pass the largest tax cut in Minnesota’s history
As we see more wildfires, floods and other extreme weather wreak havoc on homes and businesses, we need to take swift action to tackle climate change and plan mitigation strategies. This will not only help avert catastrophic warming – it will also create good, clean energy jobs.
I have also been a leader in the effort to protect Minnesota’s water, including championing legislation to protect our lakes from invasive species, and I will continue this work in Congress.
As a doctor, I know how outrageously expensive and bureaucratic our health care system is. During my time in the Minnesota legislature, I took on Big Pharma to lower prescription drug costs, and I passed bipartisan legislation forcing insurance companies to get rid of red tape that hurt patients and cost money.
And if I’m elected, I would be the only pro-choice OB-GYN in Congress. I led the fight to protect reproductive rights here in Minnesota, and now I want to take that fight to Congress.
I believe it’s time to put the voters back at the center of the decision-making process. I passed legislation to put in place automatic voter registration and other key voting reforms in Minnesota. I support ending political gerrymandering and believe that we need to protect our elections from foreign interference. I am proud not to take any contributions from corporate PACs or federal lobbyists, and I am committed to getting dark money out of politics.
