North Oaks is a community designed around nature. Its natural scenery, recreational opportunities, and safe and secluded environment distinguish North Oaks.

My interest in running for City Council is to contribute to the preservation of this distinctive community and to help plan for the future so that generations to come may also enjoy the uniqueness of North Oaks.

I have always believed in civic responsibility and service. The City Council plays an essential role in convening stakeholders and fostering dialogue. I have extensive experience working collaboratively within organizations such as the Mayo Clinic, Target, and the FBI and believe my background can contribute to the governance and planning for the future of North Oaks.
Safety and Security My professional experience is in security. Safety is a key attribute of our community and a focus on the right strategy will ensure this important value is sustained.

Preserve Natural Resources. It is critical that our natural resources be preserved. The council can engage all stakeholders to protect our precious resources.

Community Engagement The City Council can play a lead role in engagement and bring stakeholders critical information and foster civil dialogue.
Good governance is achieved through robust dialogue, communication, and an informed constituency. To govern effectively, one must understand the concerns and priorities of the stakeholders. As I noted, Community Engagement is one of my priorities and commitments. The City Council has a formal communication process to keep residents informed. In addition, I will be available to meet in person and will leverage the reach of technology to stay connected to residents and stakeholders.
As an elected official I will ensure that all my practices comply with Minnesota laws for political office. My professional experience has required the utmost honesty and integrity in all my actions.

Open and participatory governance is what defines a healthy community. My approach is to be thoughtful, listen to all stakeholders, and consider various decision outcomes and how it will affect people. I believe candid dialogue, whether in a formal meeting or informal conversation is required.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.
