I have two years of experience with Lake Superior School District as a Board Member. I also have extensive background, both professional and family, in the fields of education, business and community service.

Please visit www.markbroin.com for a detailed presentation of background material.
1. Delivering continuously improving and measurable educational outcomes for each student in the school district;

2. Building a set of Public communication platform improvements that deliver transparent, straight-forward, easily accessible, and intuitively understandable student and district criteria. This includes academic achievement and district financial performance.

3. Demonstrating the district's capability to deliver results on current public investment, and any new programs.
Presently, Lake Superior School District is operating under very challenging economic and workforce challenges. I am committed to finding additional revenue sources and programs to forego any need to cut the current budget. This includes pursuing a reasonable and supportable Operating Referendum to address teaching staff shortages, class sizes, student population declines and student performance improvements.

Making Lake Superior School District a "Destination District" is a major strategy.
I would identify and address those issues in a factually-based, transparent and straightforward manner.
I have and will continue to be available on a 24-hour 7-day a week basis. I answer and respond to every email and phone call. My mobile phone number is 612-916-4001; my school email address is mbroin@isd381.org ; and my personal email is mark.s.broin@gmail.com .

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.

VOTE411 is brought to you by the League of Women Voters Education Fund and League of Women Voters of Minnesota Education Fund. The League of Women Voters does not support or oppose any political party or candidate for office.
