My top priorities are affordability, government accountability, and public safety. First, I will work to reduce the tax and regulatory burden that makes it harder for families, seniors, and businesses to thrive in Minnesota. Second, we must restore accountability by controlling spending and aggressively combating fraud, waste, and abuse of taxpayer dollars. Third, I will support law enforcement and policies that hold violent offenders accountable. Government should focus on its core responsibilities, spend taxpayer dollars carefully, and make Minnesota a safe and affordable place to live, work, raise a family, and retire.
Minnesota should make it easier to work, invest, and grow a business here. I support lower taxes, fewer unnecessary regulations and mandates, faster and more predictable permitting, and responsible state spending. State government cannot control national inflation, but it can stop adding to families’ costs through higher taxes, fees, mandates, and excessive regulation. Economic growth comes from people and businesses creating opportunity—not government creating more bureaucracy.
Every Minnesotan deserves equal treatment under the law and a genuine opportunity to succeed. I would focus on the underlying causes of disparities by improving educational outcomes, promoting safe neighborhoods, and removing barriers to employment and entrepreneurship. Opportunities should be available equally to everyone who meets the stated qualifications, without preference based on race or ethnicity. The state’s role should be to guarantee equal rights and equal treatment for everyone.
I support equal rights and equal protection under the law for every Minnesotan, but I do not support the proposed Equal Rights Amendment as written. It goes well beyond guaranteeing equality between men and women and would constitutionalize controversial policies involving abortion and gender identity. Those important issues should be debated openly through the legislative process rather than bundled together in a broadly worded constitutional amendment.
Minnesota is blessed with extraordinary natural resources, and we have a responsibility to protect them. I support enforcing reasonable, science-based standards that protect our air, lakes, rivers, and groundwater while recognizing the needs of agriculture, businesses, communities, and homeowners. Environmental regulation should focus on measurable environmental results, use sound science, and provide clear and predictable rules rather than unnecessary bureaucracy and costly mandates.
Safe communities require effective law enforcement and a justice system that holds dangerous offenders accountable. I support adequate resources for police, recruitment and retention of quality officers, and tougher consequences for violent and repeat offenders. We should also improve treatment options for mental illness and addiction when appropriate. Minnesotans deserve to feel safe in their homes, neighborhoods, and businesses.
Voters should know who is financing political campaigns and attempting to influence elections. I support strong disclosure and transparency requirements so voters can see where political money comes from. Minnesota already limits direct contributions to candidates and encourages small-dollar giving through the Political Contribution Refund program. I would focus on closing disclosure loopholes while protecting citizens' rights to political speech and association.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.
