Morrison County Commissioner District 4

County commissioners are the county s key policymakers. They oversee the administration of the county, set county budget, and participate in county long-range planning. County services that they oversee include a wide variety of social service and welfare programs, as well as certain public health programs. I’ve worked in county government for long enough to know that residents want transparency, a listening ear and the honest truth. I know what county government can do but just as important, I know what county government can’t do. I can help connect people with the appropriate resources and help them get answers.
I’ve seen the work local election judges and the county Auditors office does when it comes to election security, they are solid. They are charged to follow law handed to them from both the federal and state government, they do so many times without funding and support.
Mental health is driving so many issues in our jails and services need to be expanded to get people in the right place. Correctional officers are not mental health professionals but end up being charged with that task time and again.
The challenge of quality service at a reduced prices is one that every entity, both public and private face daily. As someone who has not only worked in county government but also as an executive in large companies and a small business owner, I bring a unity perspective on managing the task.
I believe this is a federal issue that needs to be handled and funded by the federal government.
I go where people are, engage in conversations and welcome calls, texts and emails.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.

VOTE411 is brought to you by the League of Women Voters Education Fund and League of Women Voters of Minnesota Education Fund. The League of Women Voters does not support or oppose any political party or candidate for office.
