I am running because Triton has made a positive difference for my family, and I want to give back to the district that has given us so much. I bring 15 years of management experience, where I learned to solve problems, work with different personalities, and think outside the box when the obvious solution isn't always the best one. I won't come to the board pretending to have every answer. I will ask questions, listen to teachers, families and the community, and do my homework before making decisions. I believe a board member should put students first, be responsible with taxpayer dollars and be transparent with the community. I want to bring a fresh perspective and practical problem-solving approach to the board.
My top three priorities are slowing declining enrollment, responsible budget management, and providing our students with the best opportunities possible. We need to understand why families choose Triton, as well as why some choose other options, and look for ways to make Triton a place families want to be. We also need to be good stewards of taxpayer dollars and make responsible financial decisions. Most importantly, those decisions should keep students and their opportunities at the center.
My strategy: put students and their education first. If cuts become necessary, we have to be willing to make hard choices and evaluate every expense based on the value it provides students. I would prioritize academics and programs that prepare students for life after graduation. Everything would need to be evaluated, including extracurricular activities and athletics, looking at costs, fees, partnerships with other districts and other ways to reduce expenses before eliminating opportunities.
I believe our job is to provide every student with the opportunity to succeed, regardless of race or economic status. Equal opportunity doesn't always mean every student needs the exact same support. Some students may need additional resources or assistance to have access to the same opportunities as their classmates, and I support providing that help when needed. Every student at Triton deserves the chance to get the most out of their education and prepare for a successful future.
I think my campaign shows how I would engage with teachers and families. I will ask for input, encourage honest feedback and be willing to have open discussions, even when we may not agree. I am also not afraid to ask questions when I don't understand something. Board members shouldn't assume they have all the answers. I believe some of the best decisions come from listening to the people directly affected by them and making sure they feel comfortable sharing their ideas and concerns.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.
