I bring a long record of service‑driven leadership, a proven ability to bring people together, and a consistent focus on listening carefully and studying issues in depth. Across my work in multiple communities, I’ve helped people navigate complex challenges by grounding decisions in resident priorities, long‑term wellbeing, and thoughtful planning. I’m committed to collaboration, transparency, and respectful dialogue, and I work to ensure every voice is heard and every decision strengthens the community we share.
My priorities are thoughtful development, preserving neighborhood character, and strengthening pedestrian safety. Wayzata faces redevelopment pressures, traffic challenges, and questions about how to maintain what residents value. I will study proposals carefully, communicate transparently, and collaborate with residents, businesses, and city staff to ensure balanced, community‑centered solutions.
I plan to engage our diverse community by listening deeply, showing up consistently, and creating welcoming spaces for conversation. I’ll reach out to residents across all neighborhoods and backgrounds, encourage participation, and elevate voices that aren’t always heard. My commitment is to represent the whole community with empathy, fairness, and respect.
I will strengthen transparency by communicating clearly, sharing context behind decisions, and making information easy for residents to access. I’ll ask direct questions, study proposals thoroughly, and explain my reasoning openly. By engaging residents early, welcoming feedback, and holding myself to high standards of integrity, I’ll help ensure accountable, trustworthy city governance.

I've lived in the Wayzata area my entire life, and I've lived in Wayzata proper for about five years now. I still remember riding my bike across the bay bridge and getting frozen custard at Glaciers. My grandmother would take me to Foursome for school clothes, I even got hit by a car in the Lunds parking lot. I like to think of Wayzata as America's Biggest Small Town, the kind of place where you can get a beer and burger just across the street from home. I think Wayzata is special, and I want to keep it special.
- Traffic! With all the road construction Wayzata has become the main bypass for any work being done on Hwy 12 and County Road 101, so we get traffic jams that back up all along Wayzata Blvd. We desperately need some solution to this long term problem, otherwise we're gonna see reduced business revenues. - The Muni! If we want to keep property taxes down we need to increase City revenues, and I think the Muni is our best immediate opportunity to do so. - Car noise!
I live right in the heart of Wayzata, and I plan on keeping my office door open and my inbox attended. Wayzata isn't just Cargill and the private investment firms on Lake St, its the waitstaff, dishwashers, truck drivers, personal care attendants, firefighters, cops, and schoolteachers who keep our city running.
I say what I mean, and I mean what I say.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.
