I have been a resident of Oakdale since I purchased my first house in 2001. My daughter, Jordan is currently in college studying aviation. I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. Raised in family businesses, I currently am the General Manager at a local small business and in 2015, I started my photography company. My volunteer experience as President of my Home Owners Association Board as well as the President of my daughter's Home and School Association has given me parliamentary procedure experience. I was mentored by my aunt who not only owned a business, but served on City Council and as Mayor. She was active in getting woman involved in City Government. As her personal assistant, I worked
City government should stick to the core responsibilities and do them well. These core items are; public safety, strong essential infrastructure, and transparent fiscal responsibility to the tax payers. At the forefront of any government should be public safety. Residents need to feel safe and welcomed in the community in which they reside. City officials need to provide resources for essential training and equipment as well as oversight. Infrastructure is another key area. Quality water and pr
Listening and engaging with my fellow residents is an integral part in making decisions for the city. I am going around the city now, meeting and engaging with residents. Having input from as many neighbors and fellow residents of Oakdale is paramount to making decisions for the City. My contact information is available and I will answer all emails and phone calls in a timely manner. Our city has different geographical areas. It is important for me to meet as many people in the different neighbo
I am in favor of full transparency for all levels of government. Everything should be available to the people of Oakdale. For example, all of my contact information is available and I welcome opportunities to engage with and hear from the residents. As I am meeting people around Oakdale, I listen to what they think Oakdale City Government does well and what areas need to be improved on. I will take these perspectives to City Council and it will guide me in making decisions.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.

VOTE411 is brought to you by the League of Women Voters Education Fund and League of Women Voters of Minnesota Education Fund. The League of Women Voters does not support or oppose any political party or candidate for office.
