As a mother of two, a former middle school teacher, and a current enterprise project manager, my career is defined by advocacy and collaborative leadership. Through my daily work with school leaders and the community, I have proven that real policy change starts by listening. Building on that foundation, I bring a fresh, data-driven approach and a proven track record of bringing diverse groups together to solve complex challenges. As Apple Valley continues to grow, our city needs proactive leadership that can address changing demographics, support local small businesses, and foster safe, inclusive spaces for every resident.
If elected, my top priorities will center on making Apple Valley more inclusive. First, I will unite our community by rotating City Council listening sessions into our parks and community centers. Second, I will elevate small business growth by updating underutilized portions of downtown Apple Valley parking lots into spaces where independently owned businesses can take root and thrive. Third, I will impact sustainability by revisiting zoning laws to safely keep honeybees and backyard chickens.
Apple Valley is growing and diversifying across age, race, and background. To represent everyone, I will break down traditional barriers to civic participation by rotating City Council listening sessions directly into local parks, neighborhoods, and community centers. I will expand multi-generational spaces, establish neighborhood-based safety hubs, and collaborate directly with residents, youth, and localized advisory committees to ensure all voices shape city policy.
To increase transparency, I will remove barriers to civic participation by moving government access beyond standard 7:00 PM weeknight meetings. I will champion neighborhood-based subcommittees, launch a Citizens Advisory Committee for sustainability, and hold mobile listening sessions across local parks. Additionally, I will bring a data-driven project management approach to the budget to ensure municipal spending is clear, efficient, and accountable to the citizens of Apple Valley.
My approach to city government centers on strengthening the social and civic infrastructure that allows our community to thrive, while ensuring we utilize our shared spaces to their fullest potential. I've spent the last decade building that infrastructure myself: coaching basketball and soccer, volunteering with VAA softball, organizing our neighborhood's Night to Unite, and serving as Vice Chair of SD56, District Five. When the parks referendum came through, I helped neighbors understand the process and make their voices heard. I'm running to bridge the gap between residents and local leadership, so our city government stays visible, responsive, and welcoming to every neighbor.
Connect: I'll partner with Community Education to bring intergenerational programming into our Senior Center and other community spaces, because we've built the spaces but not the connections inside them. Contribute: I'll recruit neighborhood liaisons and rotate listening sessions into parks and community spaces, because input shouldn't be limited to a 7pm meeting. Access: I'll support mobility, walkability, and transportation options so residents can reach opportunities at every stage of life.
Ensuring every resident feels heard, respected, and represented is central to how I'll govern. I'll rotate listening sessions into parks and neighborhoods, not just the Municipal Center, and introduce neighborhood liaisons for more inclusive communication between residents and city leaders. I'll seek input from local leaders and cultural groups to understand distinct needs, including through multilingual communications, so that input actually shapes decisions rather than just gets collected.
I'll ensure key city decisions and policy proposals are shared with the public well before votes happen, so residents can weigh in while it still matters. I'll work to bring the city's own 2040 plan commitments to life, turning what's already been promised into action. And I'll foster open, consistent communication between city leadership, council members, and residents, so every concern is heard and addressed in a timely way.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.
