I bring current council experience and a career in healthcare leadership where the work is always about people. My approach is to ask questions, look at the facts, and understand who will be affected before making a decision. I don’t believe good leadership means walking in with a predetermined answer; it means being prepared to change your mind when better information is in front of you. New Hope needs to protect what we do well while planning for what comes next. I will focus on strong core services, responsible financial planning, thoughtful redevelopment, and earning public trust. I’ll do the work, explain my decisions, and keep people at the center of them.
My top three priorities are keeping core services strong while making taxes as predictable as possible; reinvesting in New Hope through thoughtful redevelopment that grows our tax base and fits our neighborhoods; and strengthening trust through transparent, accessible government. New Hope is fully built out, so our future depends on maintaining what we have, planning ahead, and making smart decisions about where and how we reinvest.
You shouldn’t need to come to City Hall to have a voice in City Hall. I want to meet people where they are—in neighborhoods, apartments, community events, and online—and make city information easier to understand and access. That means plain language, translated information when needed, and reaching out early to the people most affected by a decision. Good engagement means residents can see their thumbprint on the decisions we make.
Transparency is more than making information technically available. People should be able to understand what we are deciding, why we are deciding it, and how it affects them. I will support proactive communication, plain-language explanations, and clear reporting on how taxpayer dollars are used. Accountability also means asking hard questions in public, explaining my votes, and being willing to revisit a policy when new information or community concerns warrant it.

I'm a native Minnesotan, born and raised here in New Hope, with my family, since 1980. I attended our public schools, from Sonnesyn to Armstrong, and I am committed to building a stronger, safer, more connected New Hope community. I've been listening to your feedback about our rising property taxes, public safety, and transparency in city-affairs and city-spending, and I am the candidate who will take action to remedy those concerns.
I am running for New Hope City Council because I care deeply about our community and want to ensure that New Hope remains a safe and affordable place to live. I am a proud and dedicated, longtime New Hope resident, and I believe I am the best candidate to represent the needs and wellbeing of our community.
As your next council member my decisions will place priority on enhancing the quality of life for all our residents. New Hope residents deserve safe neighborhoods. Moreover I believe city government works best when residents are heard, and taxpayer dollars are managed responsibly and transparently. By working collaboratively with residents, I will strengthen our schools, support local businesses, improve our infrastructure, and maintain the city services that make New Hope a great place to live.
I bring to the table a background of experience in community work and public service, and I believe these skills will help move New Hope forward in its continued success.
My current volunteer work, as the Chair of the New Hope Human Rights Commission, has strengthened my commitment to community service and has prepared me to work collaboratively, and transparently, with all New Hope residents. I am dedicated to ensuring that each and every one of our residents feels represented by City Hall.
My focus on city council will be to listen to you, the residents, and to make decisions that keep New Hope a strong community for our future generations. I will keep our community informed, be accessible, and ensure that city decisions are well-explained. New Hope residents deserve responsible and transparent spending with taxpayer dollars. As such, I believe that locally-elected politicians should not collect a salary. I will donate my entire City Council yearly salary back to the community.
I am the best candidate for City Council because I bring a practical, logical, and people-focused approach to decision-making. My experience serving on the New Hope Human Rights Commission, combined with my experience in marketing and corporate Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, has taught me how to build relationships, analyze complex issues to find solutions, communicate effectively, and find solutions that serve diverse perspectives. I care deeply about the future of our community and will make thoughtful decisions that help New Hope remain safe, welcoming, and prosperous for all residents today and for the next generation.
My top priorities are shaping New Hope's 2050 Comprehensive Plan, strengthening public safety, and pursuing balanced growth. The comprehensive plan will guide our city's future for decades and requires thoughtful collaboration with residents, city staff, and community partners. I will support public safety services while ensuring our growth balances economic development, sustainability, infrastructure, and the quality of life that makes New Hope a great place to live.
I believe effective representation starts with curiosity and listening. I will engage residents through open dialogue, community events, and transparent communication, ensuring decision-making considers a diverse range of perspectives. My background has taught me how to build trust, foster collaboration, and find common ground. My goal is for every resident to feel heard, respected, and represented at City Hall.
Transparency and accountability start with open communication, ethical leadership, and accessibility. I will encourage clear communication about city decisions, budgets, and long-term plans, while making myself available to residents and listening to their concerns. I believe elected officials should be accountable for their decisions, explain the reasoning behind them, and use data, community input, and measurable outcomes to guide responsible governance.
