I bring a proven track record of strong financial leadership and a commitment to our community and environment. Building a stronger future for our city requires proactive planning and establishing our key priorities and then working to address them. Successful leadership involves respectful collaboration. My campaign is built on the foundation of honesty, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to transparency and mutual respect.
• Environmental Stewardship: Protecting our woods, water & wildlife for future generations. Our community is facing a proposed mining project with potentially far-reaching impacts on both the environment and the community. This issue requires our immediate attention, before key decisions are made • Strategic Governance: Implementing proactive planning & disciplined financial management. • Ethical Leadership: Committed to promoting a culture of civility, & professionalism in all city dealings.
I am committed to conducting all city business openly, transparently, and respectfully. Our community deserves clear communication, meaningful opportunities to participate, and accountability for every decision. They also deserve government that works for the people - not for personal agendas. Successful decision-making benefits from collaboration and honest, open discussion. That means ensuring the city's meetings are conducted with civility and respect from all those involved.
I believe community priorities should be identified early through a collaborative process that places greater emphasis on resident input and less reliance on a top-down approach. By providing timely, accessible information, and by modernizing municipal communications through updated digital platforms, regular community announcements, and open forums, the city can more effectively engage residents, identify the issues that affect our citizens and businesses, and respond to community needs.
Public safety begins with respect. I will ensure that the city’s interactions with residents, businesses, and departments are conducted with civility—not disrespect or intimidation. At the same time, I will continue exploring cost-effective, high-visibility patrol options to help keep our neighborhoods safe. Safety is not a solo operation; it is a shared responsibility. Strong, safe communities are built when residents are engaged, look out for one another, and work together.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.
