Ramsey City Council Member at Large

As local legislators who sometimes have executive power, council members can propose ordinances, set administrative policy, and authorize the budget proposed by the mayor. They oversee all city activities, including city services, programs, licensing, and public safety. I bring 25 years of finance experience in budgeting, audit, and process improvement, the same skills it takes to manage a growing city's budget wisely. As Ramsey grows, that experience matters. I've also spent years serving Ramsey families on the ARAA - Northern Light Soccer Club, and through a crisis organization I founded that supported more than 300 families. I am a proven leader, collaborator and I get things done, even when it's hard. I don't walk in with every answer, but I'll do the homework, ask hard questions, and listen to residents with care before deciding. Ramsey deserves a council member who puts neighbors before politics, and that's exactly what I will do.
Growing smart: Ramsey is growing, and our roads and amenities must keep pace. I will push to plan ahead rather than react later. Spending wisely: every dollar comes from our neighbors, and I'll bring 25 years of finance experience to make sure each one delivers real value. Living well: our parks, trails, and sense of community are why families choose Ramsey, and I'll work to protect and expand them. All three depend on truly listening to residents first.
Representing all of Ramsey starts with listening. Every resident has a story and an opinion, and I want to hear them, whether you've lived here for decades or moved in last month, and whether you speak up at every meeting or feel no one is listening. I'll approach every conversation with curiosity, not judgment. Walking alongside 300 families in crisis taught me that people's experiences shape their views, and understanding comes first. There's no "side" in serving our neighbors.
Trust in local government has to be earned, and I take that responsibility seriously. I'll explain my votes in plain language, including what I weighed and why. I'll ask hard questions of staff and vendors before approving spending. Residents deserve a straight answer, even when it's "I'm still listening and learning." I'll be available to residents outside formal meetings, because I believe decisions should be made with community input.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.
