I can't proclaim that I am the "best" candidate, but can state that I am a candidate that has lived in this area for over 30 years; raised a family of four and now enjoying it with five grandchildren and my husband of over 40 years. I now have time to give back to a community that has served us well. I am currently a professor at St. Mary's Graduate School in their Counseling Psychology Department and feel my many years in practicing psychology with children and families, as well as my educational backround, will help me in this role.
If elected I will focus on growing concerns surrounding public safety, maintaining our public parks/spaces, allocation of funding and our most vulnerable community members of children 0-3 and seniors. I will also work to assure minnetrista government is responsive to its residents.
I honestly don't know, yet. I am sure there will be different challenges that will arise, but I can not predict, at this time.
I would have to evaluate that once I am elected. At this time, not being a current member, I am not clear on what has not been transparent, to the public/community, and what has and/or what accountability members have taken.

LOCAL ROOTS. RESPONSIBLE LEADERSHIP. RESIDENTS FIRST.

Keeping Minnetrista, Minnetrista.

Minnetrista is a special place to call home. Its small-town character, beautiful surroundings, and strong sense of community are worth protecting as our city grows.

As a Minnesotan by birth and a Minnetrista resident for more than 20 years, I believe our city's future should be shaped by the people who live here. My commitment is simple: listen to residents, make informed decisions, and put our community first.
MY PRIORITIES 1. Residents First Your voice deserves to be heard. I will advocate for proactive communication, meaningful public input, and greater transparency in city decision-making. 2. Water Quality & Financial Transparency I will support a thorough, fact-based review of Minnetrista's water bills. 3. Smart Growth. Small-Town Character. Growth should serve our community—not change what makes it special. Minnetrista can plan for the future while preserving our independent, hometown character.
A COMMUNITY-FOCUSED APPROACH I was born and raised in Minnesota, have called Minnetrista home for more than 20 years. As a retired technology account executive, I bring years of professional experience to the responsibility of listening, analyzing information, and making informed decisions. I believe good local government starts with a simple principle: listen first, ask the right questions, and put residents at the center of every decision. Your perspective matters.
MOST OF ALL, I WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU.

What do you value most about Minnetrista? What concerns you about our city's future? What should City Council prioritize?

My commitment is simple: listen to residents, make informed decisions, and put our community first.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.
