Woodbury is more than where I live; it is home. My wife and I bought our first home here, raised our family here, and I hope to retire here. For more than a decade, I have served this community through city commissions, public safety, nonprofit organizations, and community service. I didn't start serving Woodbury because I was running for office. I served because I care about this community. I know how to listen, work with people who see things differently, and bring people together. I am ready to take that experience to the City Council and serve Woodbury in a new way.
My priorities are affordability, open and accessible government, and responsible growth. These are personal to me. My wife and I remember how difficult it was to find a home we could afford in Woodbury. I also believe residents deserve to know what their government is doing and have a real voice in decisions. Finally, I want us to protect the parks, neighborhoods, businesses, and quality of life that made my family proud to call Woodbury home.
For me, representation starts with showing up and listening. Some of the most meaningful conversations I've had in Woodbury have happened outside City Hall—in neighborhoods, businesses, parks, community events, and one-on-one conversations with residents. I will continue meeting people where they are. I won't only listen to people who agree with me. Every resident deserves to be heard, treated with respect, and know that their perspective matters.
I've heard residents say they don't always know how to get an issue before the Council or what happens after they speak. I want to change that. I support recording City Council workshops, creating a clear process for residents to request items be added to Council meeting agendas, sharing information earlier, and following up after public comment. Residents should be able to see what we're doing, understand why, and know how they can be heard.
My perspective and experience make me the best candidate to serve on the Woodbury City Council. I'm in my third year on Woodbury's Economic Development Commission and am the EDC's representative on the 2050 Comprehensive Plan Task Force, weighing critical issues like growth, housing, and land use. Professionally, I work in customer operations for a Fortune 100 company and hold an MBA from the University of Minnesota. As a parent raising two daughters in Woodbury, I understand the challenges families face. That combination of hands-on local government experience, a data-driven operations background, and a parent's perspective is exactly what I'll bring to Council to keep Woodbury safe, clean, and affordable for every family.
My top priorities are keeping Woodbury safe, clean, and affordable. Safe means ensuring public safety has the resources to keep up with a growing city, and setting policy that builds trust so Woodbury stays welcoming for everyone. Clean means protecting our drinking water and preserving room for parks, trails, and greenspace as the city develops. And affordable means transparent, sound budgeting and a variety of housing types so people can call Woodbury home at every stage of life.
I believe good engagement means meeting people where they are, not waiting for them to come to us. I am an advocate for proactive efforts by elected officials and city staff to engage in places beyond just City Hall so we can reach residents who don't usually attend city meetings. As a Councilmember, I'll personally engage in and advocate for others to do outreach in different neighborhoods and formats so every resident, regardless of background, has a chance to be heard.
Accountability means being responsive to resident concerns. I believe the City Council should be accessible and willing to hear those concerns which is why I support an independent, third-party review of Flock cameras and a clear policy of no NDAs and a hearing and council vote before data centers can build in Woodbury. I also believe the council should review the city's video retention policy and record workshop meetings so public meetings are more accessible.

I am the best candidate because I bring a unique combination of professional expertise, business experience, community commitment and a long-term perspective to Woodbury’s future. For more than 20 years, I’ve worked in accounting, business, real estate valuation, land use and development—experience directly connected to the decisions facing our growing city. As a longtime Woodbury resident and parent, I understand what makes this community special. I will listen, study the facts, ask tough questions and make thoughtful, fiscally responsible decisions that protect our quality of life while preparing Woodbury for the next generation.
My top three priorities, that ensure the high quality of life in Woodbury, are public safety, well considered planning/growth, and fiscal responsibility. These three are integrated into quality of life and provide opportunities for residents and businesses to succeed in our community.
I will engage with all members of Woodbury by listening first, seeking out perspectives different from my own, and creating meaningful opportunities for residents to be heard. I will work to understand the needs of families, seniors, businesses, neighborhoods and our growing community. As a Council member, I will represent Woodbury as a whole—making thoughtful, fact-based decisions that respect differing viewpoints while focusing on what unites us: a safe, welcoming and vibrant community.
I will promote transparency by communicating clearly about decisions, priorities and spending, asking tough questions and ensuring residents continue to have access to understandable information. I will encourage open dialogue, welcome public input and hold myself and city government accountable for following through on commitments. Good government requires listening, explaining the “why” behind decisions, and earning the public’s trust through consistent, responsible action.

I believe 3 things set me apart for this role; history, experience, and community committment.
1) I grew up in Woodbury, have seen our growth, and know our values such as parks, clean water, and quality education.
2) My prior experience comprises legislative work, including advocacy for Woodbury and securing state investments which reduced pressure on local property taxes, a two-year term on the MN Clean Water Council, 32 years of military service, and handling budgets of up to $128 million.
3) I've served our community as a regular volunteer including: foster parent for disability children, election judge, school PTO, local food shelf, and many other projects.
I will use this background to listen to residents and make informed decisions.
My top priorities are:
1) science-based decisions to protect clean water (including no additional AI data centers in Woodbury) and our natural resources;
2) keeping costs low by continuing to leverage state and federal funding for projects and by spending tax dollars responsibly; and
3) greater transparency and representation so residents can easily follow decisions, share input, and have council members who advocate for every neighborhood.
I will listen, show up, and make it easier for residents to engage with the city. That includes being accessible, explaining issues clearly, welcoming feedback, and advocating for a transition from at-large council seats to wards so every area of Woodbury has a local voice. My service and diversity-and-inclusion work guide my commitment to respect and representation.
Many people promise responsiveness during campaign season. I actually have a proven record of being there for our residents.
I will support open meetings, retaining city council videos at least 4 years instead of the current 4 months (so residents can go back and see what souncil members have said), and less reliance on consent agendas that limit public discussion. I will clearly explain where I stand, invite community feedback, and support safeguards to prevent open meeting violations, such as Woodbury had in 2023. Residents deserve easy access to information and accountable decision-making.
I represent a unique combination of Woodbury demographics and skillsets. I am a working mom with young children and elderly parents. I understand the difficulties of young families while cognizant of the limitations seniors on fixed incomes have.
In addition to representing these demographic groups within Woodbury, my financial background is especially tailored for helping city council navigate everything from municipal bond markets to positioning Woodbury to maximize revenues.
Most importantly, I believe in Democracy and the responsibility that comes with being a US citizen. I want to do my civic duty by offering Woodbury residents the choice of a candidate they can relate to and who they feel represents them.
My top three priorities if elected are: 1) Safe Streets, 2) Better Budgets and 3) Small Business.
Under the umbrella of Safe Streets, I include clean water, ICE free zones and e-bike/e-scooter safety. Better Budgets refer to the 6.9% levy increase that has recently been proposed by the City of Woodbury. Lastly, small business refer to the 1,900 small businesses that call Woodbury home.
I simply want to help Woodbury grow responsibly.
I have been door knocking for weeks, meeting Woodbury residents. This is the rapport I want to foster so people feel their voice matters. I listen. I take notes so I remember the people I meet. If they have concerns they want addressed, I explain the Open Forum format of city council meetings. If I have answers, I share them. I hope in my interaction, residents see how I communicate. I hope they spread the word to friends and neighbors so slowly residents will come to know I am here for them.
At my Woodbury Days Booth, I engaged Woodbury residents by giving them their tax dollars back and asking them to allocate the dollars as they would like, among school district, city, county and “other” bucket. This is an example of how I approach transparency.
In all relationships, trust must be the foundation. When residents feel there is an open dialogue and sharing of information, they are more likely to trust their government’s decisions. I welcome the chance to foster this dialogue.
As the only incumbent running, I have 7 years of experience building relationships and delivering on promises that matter to Woodbury. I have proven to stay focused on things we can control, not on political hot-button items. Focusing on making our lives better through data-driven decisions, a deep understanding of processes, and relentless passion for action, not just words. I've demonstrated the ability to work with a wide range of people and levels of government to deliver for our community. New voices are good in representation, but so is knowledge, relationships, and history. As the only incumbent running in this year's council race, I would be grateful to earn your vote once again, and keep Woodbury headed forward.
Water - Ensuring that our new treatment facility is paid for by the parties responsible for our water quality issue, and not the taxpayers.
Affordability - Working to keep our budget focused on what we need and continuing to make smart decisions on what we want to limit the increases that exceed our growth.
People over Politics - Ensuring that the efforts at politicizing our City Council with partisan candidates and partisan issues don't grab hold of one of the last non-partisan bodies.
I'm proud to have championed a fresh new look at how our city government communicates, creating the community engagement & equity positions. I will continue to commit to putting our city government where the people are. Listening and communicating with facts that allow our community to be informed about what's going on helps guide our policies and priorities. We may not always agree on the direction, but I commit to sharing the direction and decision-making background of how we got there.
Continuing to collect the data and report (as we currently do) on our performance measures. Just like a business reports its goals and data/results, I will continue these transparency programs. I commit to exploring data retention reviews & independent auditing & reporting of our policies and compliance.
I entered this race with a community-first perspective. I believe local government should work for the people, by the people. To my knowledge, I’m the only candidate with grassroots organizing experience. I am endorsed by state and local electeds.
My background in nonprofit communications has brought me into close contact with marginalized communities and fueled my commitment to advocacy. I’m ready to bring that energy to city council, championing transparency, listening to residents, and prioritizing the well-being of all. I believe in the power of people coming together to solve problems. I believe in community. I believe in listening. And I believe in a vibrant, diverse Woodbury where every resident has a voice in our city’s future.
Healthy Woodbury. Clean water and who pays for continued maintenance of PFAS mitigation systems. Prioritize parks, trails, natural spaces, and natural resources. Affordable housing for seniors, families, new homeowners.
Accessible, transparent leadership. Office hours, clear communication, and allowing a ward representation system on the ballot.
Strong advocacy at the county, state, and federal levels of government for investments in our community to reduce the burden on our local tax base.
Listen. Ask questions. Listen more. It’s what I love most about knocking on doors and meeting Woodbury residents. Thoughtful, two-way conversations help us move beyond strong emotions to understand the people behind them. I believe we have more in common than we realize. I prioritize facts over assumptions and won’t hesitate to challenge misinformation or bullying. But I also believe in human dignity and mutual respect. I plan to be available and accessible to the community throughout my term.
I support recording and retaining council workshop meetings, which is currently not done. I want to explore a longer retention of recorded council meetings, with the understanding that data storage space may be a challenge.
I plan to hold regular office hours to create more opportunities for casual 2-way conversations with residents. I will be clear and honest in my communications and viewpoints, and even if you disagree with me, you will know where I stand.
