I am the best candidate for this position because I bring a combination of technical expertise and leadership experience. Professionally, I have built a career in finance and accounting. I have a strong understanding of budgeting and analyzing financial information. I also currently serve our community as a volunteer firefighter on the SBFD and am a truck captain and Treasurer of our Relief Association. These roles have reinforced the importance of teamwork, leadership, fiscal responsibility, budgeting, and accountability. Beyond my professional and volunteer experience, I am a husband, father, homeowner, and longtime resident who is invested in the future of St. Boni. I care deeply about our community and am proud to call St. Boni home.
(1) Fiscal Responsibility – I will ensure taxpayer dollars are spent wisely by maintaining strong oversight, controlling cost, and planning for long-term needs. (2) Infrastructure and Public Services – I will demand accountability for all public works projects and ensure projects are properly planned before taxpayer dollars are spent. (3) Protect our community – I will stand up for the interests of our residents and ensure larger neighboring communities do not overshadow our city's priorities.
I will ensure city decisions, finances, and priorities are clearly communicated to residents and that resident voices are heard. If elected, my term will be a partnership with our residents and I will be their voice. I will support accountability through a balanced budget and adhering to it. Ethical conduct starts with leading by example, following all laws and policies, avoiding conflicts of interest, and encouraging a culture of honesty, trust, respect, and service to the community.
I will engage with residents through regular community meetings, email, monthly newsletters, and social media. I will listen to all input. I will not pretend to have all of the answers. I will listen and make decisions that are in the best interests of all St. Boni residents.
A strong partnership with our neighboring communities is essential as we currently contract our police. I want to be sure this partnership is solid especially during contract negotiations. As a volunteer firefighter, I understand the importance of well-trained, properly equipped public safety personnel. My focus will be on maintaining safe neighborhoods, supporting first responders and ensuring all residents feel heard, respected and protected.
