I’m running because I believe Walnut Grove needs new energy, fresh ideas, and someone willing to put in the work. I’m not interested in maintaining the status quo just because “that’s how we’ve always done it.” I bring experience in business, construction, industry, and project management, along with the perspective of a younger family choosing to build our life here. I want to bring people together, move past the cliques and divisions that can hold a small town back, and focus on practical ways to make Walnut Grove a community where families want to stay, new residents want to move, and businesses see a future.
My priorities are growth, community involvement, and responsible city government. We need to attract and retain families and businesses so Walnut Grove has a strong future. We need more residents involved and more voices at the table, not just the same few people. And we need to make smart, practical decisions with taxpayer dollars while maintaining our infrastructure and essential services. My goal is progress that makes sense for the people who actually live here.
City government should never feel like an insiders’ club. Residents deserve to know what is being discussed, why decisions are being made, and how their money is being spent. I’ll support clear communication, open discussion, accessible public information, and decisions made in the best interest of the entire community. I’ll also hold myself to the same standard I expect from everyone else: be straightforward, own mistakes, follow the rules, and answer to the people we serve.
I want residents to feel comfortable speaking up whether they agree with me or not. I’ll make myself accessible, actively ask for input, use social media and other communication tools to keep people informed, and encourage more residents to attend meetings and participate. Walnut Grove is small enough that government should feel personal and approachable. You shouldn’t have to know the right person, belong to the right group, or share the “right” opinion for your voice to matter.
Public safety starts with strong relationships between residents, law enforcement, emergency services, and city leadership. I’ll support the people who keep our community safe while also expecting professionalism, fairness, and accountability. In a small town, communication and trust matter. I want Walnut Grove to be a place where families feel safe, residents look out for one another, and concerns are addressed before they become bigger problems.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.
