Dundas City Council Member {_getChooseLabel(this.selections.length)}

As local legislators who sometimes have executive power, council members can propose ordinances, set administrative policy, and authorize the budget proposed by the mayor. I bring public service, clear communication and hands-on community involvement. As a strategic communications manager for Minnesota IT Services, I help people understand complex decisions and work across agencies. My journalism background taught me to ask questions, verify facts and listen before drawing conclusions. I served on the Dundas Park Board for eight years and now serve on the Oktoberfest board, bringing neighbors, businesses and volunteers together. As a parent raising three children here, I care deeply about our city’s future. I would bring that same preparation, collaboration and commitment to the City Council.
My priorities are: 1) Thoughtful growth that protects neighborhoods and plans for roads, utilities and other infrastructure; 2) Responsible spending that weighs long-term costs and benefits for residents; and 3) A connected community, with welcoming public spaces, local businesses and events that bring people together. These priorities will help Dundas grow while preserving what makes it a place people want to call home.
Dundas residents deserve to be heard before decisions are made. That means connecting with people in their neighborhoods, at local businesses and community events, and through ways to share feedback online and in person. Young families, older residents, renters and people who rarely attend meetings all have perspectives that matter. I’ll listen to how decisions affect them and explain the outcomes clearly, even when a decision isn’t the one they hoped for.
Transparency means Dundas residents know how their money is spent and how their voices shape city decisions. I’ll share information about proposals, costs and opportunities for input clearly and accessibly before votes occur. At meetings, I’ll ask direct questions and explain my votes in plain language. I’ll share updates on what the council decides and what happens next, welcome questions, acknowledge mistakes and follow through on commitments.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.
