20 years ago my family was openly welcomed into this community. My children attend Barnum Public Schools. We attend weekly church services at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. My city is incredibly important to me and I will work to make sure that it is an open and welcoming place for people to visit, live, and work. Our city staff, including those in city hall, public works and the Barnum Muni all work hard to make Barnum a great place for all. I will continue to support their work.
I want to work with the Carlton County Fair Board to figure out how to best accommodate beer sales during the Carlton County Fair. I believe a solution can be found through discussion and compromise.

I will prioritize maintaining and upgrading our city infrastructure. We have a strong public works department and I will continue to support their hard work.

Barnum needs more housing! I will work with county and business partners to make Barnum an affordable place to live.
I will continue to attend, and be open to discussion, at community events like National Night Out, the Community Christmas Tree lighting, High School sports events, and band/choir concerts. I am always happy to talk to community members while I have a beer and burger at the Barnum Muni. I love talking to the voters. I may not know the answer to every question, but I am good at finding the right person to provide the answer.
Government transparency is very important! I will continue to answer any questions openly and honestly. I invite anyone with questions or concerns to attend a city council meeting. The best way to keep us accountable is to engage with us during meetings.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.

VOTE411 is brought to you by the League of Women Voters Education Fund and League of Women Voters of Minnesota Education Fund. The League of Women Voters does not support or oppose any political party or candidate for office.
