I am a 20 year resident of Osseo and have a 20-year career managing facilities, infrastructure, construction projects, and multimillion-dollar budgets. I excel at long-term planning, evaluating needs and costs, managing contractors, forecasting expenses, and balancing competing priorities. I understand that infrastructure and capital investments require careful planning and responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars. I regularly follow City Council meetings and communicate with city staff and council members by asking tough questions, recently proposed a communication improvement plan, and serve on the Planning Commission. As mayor, I will bring practical, accountable, and fiscally responsible leadership to every decision.
1. Fiscal responsibility because taxpayers deserve the greatest value for every dollar spent, and we’re tired of increasing taxes. 2. Thoughtful planning because it prevents costly mistakes and protects taxpayer investments. 3. Transparent communication to proactively inform the community and because good decisions require input from the people they affect. I will protect taxpayer dollars through data-driven decisions, and engage with the community to make the best plans for the future of Osseo.
I will lead by example, setting clear expectations for transparency, accountability and ethical conduct. I will ensure residents have timely, accessible information about city decisions and encourage open discussion and differing viewpoints. I will expect decisions to be supported by facts, sound fiscal analysis and the long-term interests of Osseo. I will follow through on commitments, ask difficult questions, and hold myself, the Council and city government accountable to residents.
I will prioritize communication and resident engagement by creating convenient ways for residents to receive information and share feedback—not just during council meetings. I will build on the communication plan I previously proposed to the city, using email, mailings, social media and a more searchable city website. I will listen before decisions are made, seek input from residents and businesses early on significant projects and changes, and explain the reasons behind decisions.
Public safety requires effective policing and responsible use of tax dollars. I recognize concerns about the increase in police spending while also respecting residents who support current staffing. I will seek a balanced approach that evaluates staffing, workload and response needs while maintaining 24/7 coverage. I will support community policing, collaboration with residents and businesses, and using data to ensure resources are directed where they provide the greatest public safety benefit.
I am genuine and do my best to always keep my word. I highly value clear communication about why and how decisions are made.

Three generations of my family live here from retired down to infant. Therefore, I care deeply and personally that Osseo stay affordable as possible to keep us together in addition to all my neighbors, friends, and strangers alike.

My background in law supports a high level ability to decipher city code along with any proposals to contract with our city.
(1) senior outreach and activities to ensure health and longevity for senior and elder residents in the city so they may remain in their homes as long as they with to do so then want to live in the senior housing here if possible after that. (2) children's activities to get more activities for children in Osseo to support all the young families, multigenerational families. (3)infrastructure maintenance, especially paver repair keeping Osseo safe and accessible for residents and guests
Regular check-ins with staff; ensuring whistleblowers are not retaliated against; streamline communication with residents; following and enforcing all rules and regulations; find better ways to reach those not on internet; support updating government website.
Periodically sending out surveys when possible. Ensuring community members led councils meet and are seats are filled to represent the people's voice. Acknowledging receipt if someone sends a letter or email.

Involving community and actually listening to their feedback when it comes to large and debatable decisions that will impact everyone. Having clear and concise responses to concerns.
Evaluate adequate staffing needs, ratios to population, and support necessary adjustments.

Talk to residents in various areas of the city to see if there are blindspots that have not been addressed adequately or at all.

Promote community based policing. I.e. making police officers on duty more visible to promote safety through prevention of things like traffic violations instead of primarily mitigation.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.
