First, privacy and data rights: protect biometrics, location, communications and devices; stop government from buying data to bypass warrants. As AI and emerging technology advance, regulate brain-computer interfaces, silent-speech devices, neural implants and sensory augmentation so companies and governments cannot own, exploit or control neural signals, brain-linked data or basic senses. Second, affordability: expand housing, domestic production, workforce training, competition and jobs to increase supply and lower costs. Third, accountable government: enact term limits and anti-corruption reform, strengthen oversight, open politics to Independents, build coalitions and make representatives answer to the people, not party establishments.
Inflation cannot be solved by helping people pay for what remains scarce. I will pair relief with investment that expands housing, domestic production, workforce training, small-business space and essential services. I will strengthen competition and supply chains, protect unions, prevailing wages and apprenticeships, and confront price manipulation, monopolies and profiteering. A vibrant economy should produce more, lower household costs and ensure working people share in the value they create.
I support clean, renewable energy and federal action against pollution and misuse of shared resources. I would strengthen the power grid, expand clean-energy production, and prepare communities for extreme heat, floods, smoke, and severe storms. At this time, I oppose large-scale data centers whose electricity and water demands burden ratepayers and increase pollution. Climate policy should cut emissions, build resilience, create good jobs, and ensure working people do not carry the cost.
I will protect Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, food assistance, school meals, rental aid and homelessness prevention, and establish paid family and medical leave. I support a universal healthcare guarantee with a portable public option and automatic coverage for children and dependents. We should expand affordable housing, move people from shelters and streets into permanent homes, and preserve Pell Grants, student aid, special education and federal support for under-resourced schools.
I support federal voting-access protections, including early and mail voting, sufficient polling places, accessible registration, and safeguards against intimidation and wrongful purges. Elections should use auditable paper records, post-election audits, secure systems, and transparent certification. I also support enforceable standards against partisan redistricting so parties cannot choose their voters, and fair ballot-access rules that do not reduce representation to two-party control.
A representative must stay informed for constituents, keep them informed as they manage daily life, give them a voice and serve their interests. I will diligently research prevailing and overlooked threats to Americans’ livelihoods, safety, freedom and constitutional rights, including emerging technologies developed or used by military, government and corporate powers without public scrutiny. As an Independent, I will answer to the people, not party agendas, donor networks or career ambitions.
I support a constitutional amendment for 18-year terms and an upper age limit for Supreme Court justices. Congress should enact binding ethics, financial-disclosure, recusal and conflict-of-interest rules and reduce federal case backlogs and undue delays in adjudication. SCOTUS should not use its emergency docket to make consequential decisions without full briefing, public reasoning and a substantive written ruling. Judicial independence cannot mean secrecy or freedom from accountability.

I’m running for Congress because working people deserve a government that fights for them—not billionaires or corporate interests. My priorities are clear: lowering the cost of living by taking on corporate greed, fighting for Medicare for All, and restoring SNAP benefits so families can put food on the table. I will continue holding Donald Trump and his administration accountable for the corruption and abuses of power we see every day, especially after ICE’s terror campaign in Minnesota. And I’ll fight to strengthen public education by increasing school funding and guaranteeing universal school meals. Government should serve ordinary people, not the wealthy and well-connected.
The economy works best when it works for working people. As Deputy Chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, I helped develop the Affordability Agenda: lowering prescription drug costs, cracking down on utility companies that overcharge families, curbing excess oil profits, capping child care costs at 7% of income, and helping first-time homebuyers. The answer to inflation is not corporate greed—it’s making life affordable.
Climate change is an existential threat, and Congress must act with urgency. We need to reinvest in clean energy, community solar, public transit, and industrial decarbonization. I support environmental justice investments in communities hit hardest by pollution and neglect. And we must ensure that new technologies, including AI infrastructure, do not drive up energy costs or undermine our climate goals.
In the wealthiest country in the world, healthcare, housing, education, and food should be human rights—not privileges. I support Medicare for All, tuition-free public college, student debt cancellation, and major investments in affordable and public housing. In the short term, we must reverse cuts that have stripped millions of people of health coverage and food assistance. No one should be left behind.
Democracy works when everyone can participate. We must pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, ban partisan gerrymandering, protect voter data, and strengthen our election infrastructure. I also support rolling back restrictive voting laws that keep eligible citizens from casting a ballot. The right to vote is fundamental, and Congress should expand it—not restrict it.
Being a member of Congress is about far more than casting votes in Washington. It means showing up for your constituents every single day. My office has helped thousands of people navigate federal agencies and secured millions of dollars for housing, infrastructure, and food access. I hold monthly town halls because I fully believe my job is to listen, fight for my community, and use every tool available to improve people’s lives.
The federal judiciary must be accountable to the public it serves. I support Supreme Court term limits, expanding the Court, and establishing enforceable ethics standards across the Court. No judge or justice should be above the rules. I also support creating an independent immigration court system so that due process is protected and justice is administered fairly and impartially.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.

VOTE411 is brought to you by the League of Women Voters Education Fund and League of Women Voters of Minnesota Education Fund. The League of Women Voters does not support or oppose any political party or candidate for office.
