Minnesota voters are demanding solutions to the challenges in their day-to-day lives: affordability, healthcare access, and economic opportunity. Families want to afford where they live, get the healthcare they need, find affordable childcare, have investment from industries that keep communities strong, and protect our land and water. To ensure economic vitality for Minnesota families, we must push forward universal health care, proper federal funding for childcare, schools, hospitals, and programs the working class relies upon, and attract new industries with sustainable, good-paying union jobs. I have traveled to every corner of the district, and people want a Representative that addresses the issues that shape their daily lives.
A strong economy starts with working, middle-class Americans, not billionaires. I will fight to raise the federal minimum wage and permanently tie it to inflation, helping workers keep pace with basic costs. I will also expand affordable homeownership by offering tax credits to builders who sell homes below the local median price directly to American families. I will push to reduce or eliminate tariffs that have raised consumer costs by more than $1,700 per household annually.
Minnesota faces threats from extreme weather, wildfire smoke, polluted water, and projects that leave taxpayers with long-term risks. I will defend the Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, public lands, and science-based permitting. I support responsibly regulated, fully bonded mining, but not in the Boundary Waters watershed. I will fight to protect the natural resources that sustain our economy and way of life. That’s why I’m proud to be endorsed by Save the Boundary Waters Action Fund.
Rising costs for food, housing, education, and healthcare are unsustainable. The government should make basic necessities affordable, not rig the system for the billionaire class. Working Americans already pay their fair share. Making billionaires pay a comparable share would provide the federal revenue to lower healthcare and education costs, expand affordable housing, and help families afford food and other essentials. Minnesota pays more in federal taxes than it receives back in funding.
I will defend Minnesota’s secure, accessible elections. In 2024, 76.35% of voters participated and 296,287 registered on Election Day. I will protect same-day registration, mail-in ballots, support local election officials, and oppose barriers that burden eligible voters. Many precincts in our District only have a mail-in option. We cannot disenfranchise voters. I have seen firsthand the consequences when countries fail to protect voting access.
Public offices are positions of trust. I will serve with integrity, uphold my oath, protect Congress’ constitutional role, and put the people of this District ahead of party or personal interest. I will remain accessible, provide strong constituent services, hold regular public meetings, and listen respectfully to everyone, especially those who disagree with me. I will explain my decisions honestly and be accountable for the results.
Federal judges must be independent, but lifetime appointments should not mean power without accountability. I support reasonable term and age limits for federal judges, including Supreme Court justices, to ensure regular turnover and reduce partisan battles over vacancies. I also support an enforceable code of ethics, strong disclosure and recusal rules, and meaningful penalties for violations. No judge should be above the ethical standards expected of other public officials.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota and North Dakota crafted the questions sent to the candidates in the Spring of 2024. They reached out to candidates based on contact information in their public candidate filings. Candidates with email addresses were invited and reminded with emails. Candidates with only mailing addresses were sent a letter. Candidates with phone numbers received a phone call as well.

Candidate responses are published as they responded and have not been edited, except when responses were longer than the given character limit. In those cases, the responses are truncated.
